I used the SE vivaz only for a week & the motherboard crashed & now the phone is no use.i bought it from europe & now im stuck with no phone.

I am planning to go for a touch phone and how is the vivaz?????........
What's your take on the galaxy ace?... compared to vivaz?
whats our safe bet on a touchphone for that matter?

I've had the phone for over a month and there are pros and cons to it.
On the good side:
1. The phone looks great. Very sleek, stylish and thin enough. The UI looks great too.
2. The video player is good and remembers exactly where you paused watching a video even if you play a different video after.
3. The touch screen has good responsiveness for a resistive.
4. The camera takes excellent outdoor pictures during the day.
On the bad side:
1. Although the camera is good for outdoors in the day, it's bad for indoors. The pictures turn out very noisy and the colours become less accurate. And forget about nighttime shots. The flash is not strong enough and raising the iso setting makes the pics so noisy that it's unusable.
2. The loud speakers are not loud enough. How ironic.
3. The phone has a mixture of kinetic scrolling and bar scrolling depending on the menu you're in. Not only is this illogical but HIGHLY annoying. They should just stick to kinetic.(Do you know know how hard it is the scroll through my 300+ contacts!!!)
4. No preinstalled music equalizer?! Really?! You have to be kidding me.

No one has been listening to the genuine complaints made by the people who have paid over the top prices for what is a phone that is not FIT FOR PURPOSE. Sony Ericsson should be made to RECALL all the phones, repair them and compensate the owners. In America there would have already been a Class Action against both Sony Ericsson and the Mobile companies. Strange enough the Vivaz was not on sale in the USA and Canada last year when it was released on the British market.

I butchered Ovi Maps to get it to work on my vivaz, had to do all sorts of programming changes and more I cant even remember all of it anymore.I used instructions from someone online as im no programmer and it worked. Google it is all I can say. There is always someone else with the same idea and who knows whats going on.

Y, 21 Mar 2011I bought this new SE vivaz 1 month ago,i found that 3G has ... moreYour Wi-Fi settings probably have one item which is set incorrect to the general area or country where you are. Play around with those and see what happens.
Mine didnt work 1st time out the box and had to mess around with it a for a bit to get it going.

As far as i can understand they seem to be adopting Android going forward. Which is good in my opinion. Changing from Symbian to Android on the vivaz, I wouldnt say impossible but nearly I would guess. hardware has to match on many different levels and I wouldnt try it. Rather get a phone that was designed to use Android from the start.

please help me which one is really better the Xperia X8 or Vivaz or the samsung galaxy ace...Vivaz luks gud but how come it has no android??? can be the symbian upgraded into android froyo?? hope you guys could help me in this case thank you so much ^^
