I can't say this enough times.....
BLUETOOTH IS HARDWARE DEPENDANT - THAT MEANS YOU CANNOT (REPEAT, !!"CANNOT"!!) GIVE THE W200i BLUETOOTH CAPABILITIES.
I have said in a previous post that the bluetooth module seems to be missing on the W200 PCB (compared to a K510i, not a K320i). It SEEMS that the memory card slot occupies the space where the bluetooth module is supposed to be.
Hopefully that will be the end of the matter...

I have said this enough times already...
The W200i CANNOT GET VIRUSES!!!!
It can harbour them, but cannot be AFFECTED by them (when I say harbour, it can, as a flash drive under windows, carry virus files from computer to computer, but the W200i, being a A100 software platform, CANNOT GET VIRUSES). If your phone starts doing stuff it isn't supposed to do, give it a flash or a firmware upgrade. Simple as that.
This is a budget phone, primarily designed for music. I didn't need anything more than a phone, camera, and music, and this is what I thought was the best value for money. I actually didn't care if it does or does not have bluetooth. As long as I can store most of my music collection (about 3GB worth on a M2), I am happy. Though these days, I really want a wireless headset (bluetooth A2DP), which the W200 obviously lacks... Getting more and more frustrated with tangled up wires in my pocket....

i tried out ths 4n for about a year n it gv me no trubl i jst hv 2 sy tht SE made anothr hit in the w seris.
as fr the virus prblm i hvnt hd any viruses since i bought ths 4n. try scnning it

To all SEW200 users, is there any code that can be used to increase the volume of the speaker. Mine is set to the maximum but you can't hear it once inside your pocket and someone is calling or texting you. Hope you can help me guys. Thanks

i have a new W200i but there is no sound coming from it. Its as if the phone is on silent. Even when i go to choose a ringtone i can't hear anything. Any ideas whats up

Back in the days (about a year or so back), I thought this phone had very good sound quality. That is until I bought Sony's Noise Cancelling Video Walkman. I started using my W200 as my Mp3 player again but I now prefer Clear Stereo and Bass over MegaBass (MegaBass now sounds like it is lacking treble clarity). Seems that I got used to using my video walkman. But then again, yes, you are correct in saying that the W200 does have considerably good sound quality. I can compare it to my old Samsung SGH-D600 (which doesn't even have custom EQ), where the W200 will be able to beat it by a mile or two.
So simply saying, if you are on a tight budget, the W200 will suffice as a decent music player.
Though personally, I am thinking of moving onto a SE C510 and buying a bluetooth headset at the same time; getting more and more annoyed with wired headsets, having to always keep them organized so that they don't get tangled up in my pocket... Though that wouldn't be a problem if the W200 had a bluetooth module...

W200 Is a good phone. Its sound is clear.But the disadvantage is it have not Bluetooth

Anonymous, 12 May 2009hi, dont blame the phone u must scan ur phone it might have... moreNo idea where you got that idea from, but it is NOT possible for Sony Ericsson A100 and A200 software platforms to get viruses (the W200i/a included). The only mobile phone OS that can get viruses are Microsoft, symbian, and the iPhone OS.
If your phone is not working very well software-wise, you might just need a reflash or a firmware update (or just simply turn off your phone and turn it on again).
Another known lagging problem with this phone is fake memory cards. Always make sure that you get your M2 from a trusted retailer (not people selling on ebay who say that will deliver M2 cards to you without the original packaging - they are probably stolen and/or had PC viruses loaded and/or are forged fakes, so that it messes up your PC when you try moving files onto it). Such memory cards are also not formatted properly which causes the phone to lag. Thus, always format your new card (in the phone menu) before use to ensure it is in a standard that the phone is designed to handle.
Hope that helps, and please, no incorrect statements - kinda worring seeing people give out the wrong advice to those who seek help.........
