But since people say that 8gb is working... I am regretting the fact that i bought a 4gb... I will post more when I get it (in transit). Also, the W200 seems to support hot-swap with the new firmware (not possible with the old one)... Takes a while to load though...
Have you experienced any changes in the phone's load time..? It takes about 15 seconds for my W200 to load with a 1GB at the moment, so I guess it will take 8x that time for a 8gb?

I finally bought an 8Gb m2 card (memory stick micro) and put into my Sony Ericsson w200 and IT WORKS!! :)
When it loaded the first time, I checked for the free memory the phone said 3.5Gb and I thought that it was only recognizing 4Gb. But I have loaded the card with more than 4Gb of MP3 files and the phone read it all and says 3Gb free yet.
I just cant notice any slow down in the phone. The only thing anoying me is that it takes so much long time to copy files to the phone using the USB cable, this 4Gb taked around 4 hours(!) to copy.
I Don´t know if it do works in all phone versions, but on mine it does.
It says: software version: CXC1250719 R4JA011 on w200i
Thanks Sony for this great and cheap Phone.
Simple and great for music.

ronit, 26 Sep 2008heyyy is thr any fault in this phone or should i take thi... morefor its specs (no BT, VGA camera and low res screen) it has no flaws. It's highly recommended. In fact it competes with my P990i as an all around phone. It has a PIM tha can sync with Outlook, hence my data on my P990i is the same. Good MP3 player and radio. Has games too. And it's cheap!

Hi Guyz I m a recent W200 user .. I have a problem which is in my Inbox, I have around 100 msgs in my my cell and it says memory 95% full..
on the other hand my phone memory is empty and card memory has 18 mb left .. Can you guys pls tell me the max: msg w200 holds?? and If it holds more than 100 then pls tell the way to do so .. Thanks in advance dude ..

one thing ive experienced upon using the phone is that it has a weak signal..but so far from now thats the case..and also be careful when using the keypad for games..

Just letting you know, from my predictions, if you brute force the W200 hardware to run a K510 TFT LCD 256K, you will most likely get a white screen (though I think the phone will turn on and function properly, but not the screen...).

Posting this reply to tell you all... The K510 screen replacement onto the W200 will NOT work. The LCD drivers are different (since the K510 has a display colour res of 256k whereas the W200 has a 65k). Unless you know how to dissect the W200 base firmware and replace just the LCD part of it with the K510 driver code, then the replacement is not possible... However, the cable for the screen to the motherboard seem to be similar. Haven't actually tried turning the phone on with the K510 LCD attached... Scared that a voltage difference might exist and burn out the PCB... But just saying, theoretically possible. For any of you willing to try, tell me your results~~
This is likewise with the camera module. The 1.3MP camera from the K510 SEEMS to fit the area where the camera for the W200 goes, but not sure if the PCB will reject it or accept it, even with the proper drivers... For anyone willing to use their W200 and K510 as guinea pigs, please tell me how you get on!!
