I personally think this is a very nice phone. I like the look of the phone over the w890. I didn't dig the gold call/send buttons, and the Back and C key are back unlike the w890 where the Back key was replaced with the shortcut key.
I can't wait. I'm going to get it to replace my w810i. I was gunning for a w890, but this thing is practically the same specs as the w890.
I don't need 3G or the 3G camera.
It's a shame to lose the flash and autofocus, but judging from the preview, GSMArena said the camera is not that bad.
My main concern is how will the vibration and speaker be? The main reason I am slightly not sure on the w890 is I read that the vibration is incredibly weak, and the speaker isn't too good even for ringtones. I'm not using the speaker to blast music out, but I like having the ringtones on when I'm outside or in the street. I need vibration for indoors. I don't want something where it will generate lots of missed calls/msgs in your pocket/jacket pocket.
So what do you think about my main concerns?
Also, it'll be definitely cheaper which is a PLUS.
I just hope it comes out in early Q4, as my contract ends early December and I need to switch.
Is there nothing that is really a successor (worthy one) to the w810i that combines best form, features, function?

I m always a Fan of SE but I wish if SE can add a 3.5 mm headset jack and can reduce phone length 20 mm further to make it 80mm length keeping all other features same.

...., 22 Jul 20083G? that's all? uhmmmmm ok....it your preference. but ... moreYes. It's not so obvious now that W302 is superior is it? It just happens that 3G is a feature I require. I am aware that the J750 is inferior in most aspects, but the 3120 is the better all-rounder against W302.

Revenant, 22 Jul 2008Why do so many people make such a fuss over the 3.5mm jack?... moreThis topic is overly-discussed!
People want the 3.5mm port because the phone is a "Walkman" phone meant for Music and most people have "regular" headphones that uses the Universal 3.5mm plug!
It would make better sense for SE to make ALL their phones with the 3.5mm port and include a MIC adapter so people can use their own headphones and use the MIC adaptor to answer phones!
Instead, SE includes a proprietary port with a headset that includes a MIC and, if included, a 3.5mm adapter.
Why not just Eliminate the proprietary port?!
Not why would SE doing something like that when it's their "cash cow"? SE can "make" people buy their accessories to use SE products!
How silly of people to believe that a company would eliminate their cash cow?

Anonymous, 23 Jul 2008SE have already made this phone before, it's called a W890 :PThis phones does look much like the recently released W890i so why create a similar low-end phone?
Oh, right! SE lost market share and must prove to the world that they can still make affordable phones for the masses while including certain features!
If only SE would consolidate some of their phones as they waste so much resources with all their difference models that like similar to each other!

SE does neet a "lower class" phone considering most of their other phones are quite expensive.
SE has currently lost market share and is in 5th place!! In a way, it's a wake-up call for SE to make more affordable phones with decent features instead of focusing on the high-end phones!
Now if only the phone delivers! Let's wait for the official reviews!

There's one built into the bundled earphones' cable. Why clutter up the phone with an extra socket when it can be put on the walkman headphone cable? Doing it this way you can use your own headphones and still have handsfree call handling...

It has almost the same specifications as the W810i but with very few differences;I think the W880i is a better choice or...the new nokia 5220 XpressMusic which has a better screen and dedicaten music buttons + the 3.5mm jack...which for a music pgone it is very important
