I've been having this phone for about a year now. I love it's music capabilities and the loudspeaker is indeed really good. I hate the bulky menu though, and the screen is a bit small.
I wish I could afford a Nokia 5700. heh^^

well what to say about w550i, m using this set for past one year, & very much satisfied with its features, but this set has one drawback that its not having expendable memory feature, but overall nice one,

in my personal opinion .. the sonyericsson 550i's 3 "independant speakers" where far more supperior in both quality and sound to that of the sonyericsson 880i's 1 "singular speaker" .. lol - amour101..aka..phonepimp

This Phone is HEAVYYYYYYYYY, TRUST !!! .. lol .. the 3 Independant Speakers on this Phone are ALMOST "Second to NONE" !! (ESPECIALLY for a Phone that came out at the "Back-End" of 2005), i LOVE IT !!, as for the 'Swivel Mechanism' .. its VERY SOLID !!, HELL YEHHHHHH !!!, lol - AMOUR101..aka..PhonePIMP

I'm considering to buy this phone, but does anyone experienced any problem where the spring of the phone gets LOOSE or SHAKY after TWISTING it for long period... like few years or months later?

i have w550i . its great phone with excellent sound quality.(dhamak). this phone is for music lovers . and second walkmen after w880i . its features is as same as w880i . some peoples said below that it hangs or other screen white problems . so in my opinion they are completely wrong .it depends upon care of the phone .which you can do good . i think it is great i have this phone now and it does nt showed me any problem . it has (1.3mp camera , 2.0 bluthooth, infrared , full usb support, and unbelieveable sound quality like no other phone of any brand. thanks

I have SA W550 since 1year.It never hangs up!Great sound quality!It is a budget phone.256mb memory is not fault,as it is only be used for MP3S & not for AVI(smartmovie) videos.No Symbian OS so no chance of viruses (As java vuruses do not creat so much damage in phone).just a low capacity camera.But note down Nokia's 1.3MP cameras(3230,5300)aren't as clear as SA,because Nokia is not a company which can make cameras indidually & is dependant On Japanies companies!!!!!!!!!!

I have found out that if u download from the sony ericsson website update service and connect ur fone to the pc and follow the steps. the phone will be fine

i connected my phone to the computer and put 2 files in the folder called other. There we some differernt files and folders der. when i on my fone it cums up white and dont go to the menu. it just stay blank white.

I bought it and i had problems.
one day i was charging the phone ,it was 86 % of the battery but after 3 seconds i found out that it was 65 %.
In my opinion it have some problems but in the end it is a great phone.

it is a great phone it has great sound and brilliant memory.I would reccomend this fone to anybody espescially my m8 phil and even my dog biffy oh and my sister kelly.and my mum lisa

this is a heavyyyyyyy phone, trust!!!..itz only second to the samsung d500 in my opinion..the d600 in my opinion weren't all that still, lol..both the w550 and the d500 have excellent speakers on them, i have both, and was forever playing the same music track(s) on each of these phones simultaneously to see which was loader!!, helllll yehhhhhhh!!!, such good times, lol..for my money both the w550 and d500 are tops..whereas the d600 and w800 aren't all that, lol..take it from someone who definetely eats, breaths and sleeps mobiles, hehe..don't ask, lol .. amour101 aka phonepimp1. :)

look dudes...nokia 6233,n95 has realistic 3d sound effects by default stored in them,thats y they sound good,but thats not with w550i,a software comes for this purpose only for w550i..3d blaster...install this on your w550i.play the music on that player..and hear the effect....you will go crazy even without headphones..and its the loudest ever phone produced(after installing that software)..
