hey. im from singapore. i got this phone only recently. about 1 week ago. i dont have any problems with it. just that i think tt the battery life is a little too short. its only about 3 days. i wonder why?

hi, i have had this phone since it first came out in the uk on payg, i've never had any probs with it, i think for the price u pay its one hell of a phone, not sure what this white screen of death is, i've never had it, the screen dies go blank when in idle mode, but its supposed to, its energy saving, hope this helps

what the heck is everyone talking about some white screen thingy? i have this cool phone for more than 2 months and never encounter this problem. perhaps i already have the latest version. so quite complaining and get the latest version via gprs. and say good bye to the white screen. and stop insulting this masterpiece!

i got the WSOD 2 days after i got the phone last month, but now the 550 in the replacement i think has new firmware so its going on smoothly. my software version is CXC1250031 R4BA041 000000. please write down your software versions so we can know which ones the latest.

Hey everyone. i just bought the phone today..that is why i am here to view the comments regarding this phone. i can see that the main problem of this phone is "white screen of death", .... i heard that most of the companies has stopped to sell that phone cuz it had too many problems (dunno exactly what) and i already ordered1 so..can u tell me is this true ?

style-up covers are available on the w550i website (fun and downloads section) but they are quite expensive. but here in the philippines, style-up covers are now available at stores, both original and fake.

just to be sure of not having the white screen problem (even if you have the latest firmware), DO NOT USE THE DISC2PHONE SOFTWARE WHICH IS SUPPLIED IN THE PHONE PACKAGE. and please follow the instructions CAREFULLY when you're connecting your phone to your PC. the number one cause of white screen of death (as i have read in other forums) is the use of disc2phone. the second cause is bluetooth, but i have not encountered problems yet about it.

US$260 (PHP13600) is just okay. here in the philippines, it costs PHP12500 (1 month warranty only). the firmware update is about 2MB (as i have read in other forums), but i think that the update does not occupy additional memory space for it only updates the firmware (operating system); it does not use additional memory space. i'm not sure of that because i haven't tried yet to update my firmware since i need first to buy additional 128MB RAM to my PC (256MB RAM is required to connect the phone to the PC via USB). to update the firmware via gprs is quite expensive.

I would also like to know how much space, does installing the firmware, take up? Also, from where can I buy a white 'style-up cover' for the w550i?
