hey there. i just got the white screen problem today. i've heard new software helps, where do i get it from?? this is the second time i bought this phone cuz i had this white screen problem with the first one. and i actually bought another. what can i do? plz help!!!

hi i have just got the w550i for my birthday and really like it except for the lack of memeory does anyone know if files can be zipped and still work on the phone. if so please help!!! thanks!

was offered this phone on 02even though i asked for a nokia 6280 but now ive read some of your comments i dont think ill bother glad i checked this wb site first

Forgot to mention one thing. Sometimes even corrupt themes cause white screen, crashes and resets. It happened quite often when i installed K750i themes on my phone.

I think the white screen problem only occurs with a batch of handsets manufactured at a period. Most uk users face this problem. Whereas i ve never come across this till now and my phone works without a glitch.

who said all the problem such as WHITE SCREEN can be stopped with new software(R4BA041)??????

guess what????the white screen still occoured to my phone yesterday!for the 1st time...and maybe it will happen again!

had w550i for 48 hrs and all is fine it does what it says on the box! camera is good better than my samsung e720 the vid is only supposed to record for 1 min but i did over 2mins rec and still it was going on so i stopped it the only slight niggle i have is that i cant seem to save my contacts to speed dial when i do it does not ring the number i put in ha! ha! its poss just me not doing it right

The screen isn't small , it's physical size is 1.8" inches. The Nokia S60 phones all have a 2.1" inch screen (except Nokia N92)

hi ppl i got dis new fone recently.....its awsum....i got query....s der any chance of d fone acquiring virus while transferring data from a symbion fone via blue tooth.....plz answer my query @ d earliest....im a bit woried abt dis.....& ver can i get d settings for dis fone to activate GPRS....i use airtel card & ven i contact him he says dat my GPRS has been activated but im not able browse thro it....plz help me....my id s parz85@gmail.com......

Hi All ... I m Back,
My phone also got some problem. I switched off the Phone and then switched on back then just white screen comes and nothing happens we can't even switch off the Phone ... I have to remove my baterry to do so. I don't know whether this is white screen problem or not. Normally when white screen appears I'll able to switch off the mobile and then switch back on and it start working fine. But this time this din'tt happen. I took to SE service centre and solved the problm obviously New software done. Now software ver. shows

I am again going to take this phone to SE service centre as they loosen the joints .....

Hi GAURAV, I also faced the same prob since no setting is available on sony site or Hutch site for GPRS.
I contacted HUTCH customer care & got the setting via e-mail. Then i put the setting in my W550i.
Remember before putting setting, just reset ur mobile first & then put the setting. After that just switech off ur mobile.
Thats the way i did when activated GPRS.
Try it..
