This is the worst phone Ive had, Ive had it 4 months and its been replaced twice in that time.
The buttons ALWAYS break, they'll crack down the middle first and then one side will fall off and then the other.
The screen will sometimes go fuzzy, the sound when youre talking to someone will sound like its off an old speak phone... the camera is also crap (but believe me the camera is the least of your worries)
The shake gimmick is just that... a gimmick that you'll use a dozen times and then forget. The fitness software is the only half decent thing on this phone.

hey does anyone know how to stop the "clicking sound" whenever i slide up and down ? it's irritating..

For one i think this phones very cool the problem is if you have mxit the battery goes qwuiker and you musnt push the buttuns hard or else they will brake.I love this phone:)

For those of you who own the W580i, does the back of the phone move when texting or navigating around? The specific part is the plastic piece which covers the battery. Its like there is too much room between the battery and the plastic to allow for movement.

Overall, it's a nice, slim, good phone with clear sound quality at low volume. At high volume settings, there're a lot of statics. There's only one plug for charging, headset, FM antenna, so you can't charge while using the headset or FM radio. The screen only dims, doesn't turn off when talking, draining battery. Battery life is no where near the advertised 9 hours, even with excellent signal strength. The phone allows limited button or menu customization.

YEAH! the buttons really crack! they are too delicate, so if u are gonna get tis phone, u hafta use it in a delicately way! and the battery charge doesn´t last too much.. those are the only problems i´ve had with my phone

My experience with this model was far from OK. Starting with the design. This phone is a little too delicate for extensive usage. It frequently slips out of hand being a little too small for me. Apart from this, the keys look really delicate although I personally did not face any problem with them because I got to use it for only 3 weeks approx. I had to sell it for a loss of $250 as it had a whole lot of other problems. The phone would freeze every now and then requiring me to remove the battery. FM player will work or not depending on God knows what. The clock would lose almost 30 mins within 8 hours. Finally I manage to drop it in water which was really the final straw in my decision to getting rid of it. Since then been using W950,which has proved to be much more reliable then this newer model.

to shake press and hold the walkman button, then shake the phone to switch songs

Has any1s button broken, i've had 2 of then and nothing but problems. all my buttons have gone and sony won't do anything about it !!!!!!

Excellent phone! I still haven't heard of any of the blue and black phones having any cracking problems. All of the bad phones are from the first production run, and when you are swapping the bad phone out with your carrier they are simply giving you another phone from the faulty set of phones they purchased.

the disign id mint i fink bt the buttons av crackd u cn still use em and they dnt feel like they gna cum off but thats not the point is it the ligts on the side luk realli gud on the fone the softwares on the fone are ok its a bit boring tho

anyways! it's a kewl phone! one of the keys cracked, but who cares! it still works well! I luv my phone!

Great reception! But the backing on it is flimsy. Specifically, the back portion with the "Sony Ericsson" wording. When navigating around with one hand, the pressure exerted on the back makes this plastic case move slightly. Anyone else having this problem? Thanks

disappointed....the keypad cracked in just 3 month's time....n the color on the directional button started to fade away....now it looks ugly....poor workmanship from sony ericsson
