also nokia express music touch (which was horrible when it released, but now they have improved it)
Both of these are of the same price range (10.5k and 13K respectively) but more features, most significantly wi-fi and touch screen. moreover corby has qwerty keyboard.
If you do not need wi-fi and high funda things like that, both corby and nokia touch have their mini versions without wi-fi. I dont exactly remember the names. Both costs around 7K whereas for W595 u'll hav to pay more than 10K. So think before you buy 595.

One more thing i have to say you guys who are planning to buy any sony ericsson phone...
I have been to sony service centre a couple of times for repairing my phone. even though i had warranty, they will tell some or the other reason and claim that the issue with my phone doesn't come under warranty.
My problem was that a strip kind of material connected to the slide got damaged becos of which my receiver doesnt work. They told the sliding of phone caused the problem. I told it's not my fault and its sony who designed the slide mechanism. But they didnt agree.
The same thing i noticed with other customers also who come there. Any damage, it'll be ur fault. The only area the warranty covers, as far as i know, is software issue - which rarely happens.
So i wud suggest, if u r buying, buy from some smuggled goods market like Majestic in Bangalore, Bhima Palli in Trivandrum, Burma market and so on. sorry i dont know about other cities. Here there will be a price difference of around 3000Rs and the phone will be original one but without warranty.
Anyway it's your choice. I just suggested

I recommend this phone for the quite clumsy people like me. I've used it since last year I think Feb or so, and I dropped the phone for tons of time, average 2-5times/day. And it still works well. Camera's abit slow, but it doesn't really matter. And you can adjust the brightness, can use it in the dark without hurting your eyes. Basically its a good phone.

Corby with wi-fi W595 no wi-fi....Corby weak music W595 medium music... :P

hey frnz used for almost 1 n 1/2 years,,, ita awesome,,,, music - good , battery xcllent gets upto 2 days ,,, performance also good ,,,, good yo use this handset,,, thnx sony for launchin this handset,,,, keep going,,,,

The display light is not going off whenever i am in call. If i am in call for some 10 mins, the display light wil be on for 10 mins. Because of this, this W595 handset is getting heated. Can anyone tell me how to change this setting?

I am using the phone from past one year here in India.
The only problem i faced with it is its response time. But it is much far better than others.
It is really a good phone with good sound quality and awesone battery usage.

Have it for a ccouple of month now.Sound is very nice in volume and quality.Sliding is nice.Everythings good,just the camera lacks autofocus and is sometimes a bit slow.But still,good phone,i recomend.

anybody willing to buy this phone, pls dont do it. I bought it on Jan09. The phone is very slow, especially the reaction time on pressing a button which irritates you a lot. I had to take it to service center once. The receiver was not working. Later some of the buttons stopped working. I took it to the service center and i was very unhappy with their approach. They told some internal part got damaged because of the sliding and it doesnt come under warranty. I told them its not my fault and that the company is the one who designed the slide. But they were so harsh and finally i had to give up.
The phone also restarts at times.
Sound, camera and everything is fine for me.
But please dont waste money by buying this phone. Even i'm planning to sell mine and buy a new one.

i just used this w595 for one year n half..unfortunately, i recommend to all for be careful with this phone, as my experienced anyone who bought this phone MUST HAVE RIBBONS PROBLEMS..they might
