aphrael, 11 May 2010Just to say that i've been using W595 for 1 year and 2 mont... moresoftware update wont do harm to your phone. It will actually remove those "cons" that you mentioned, my phone's ui is fast, doesnt experience any problem with phone calls, and my battery charge lasts for 2-3 days (minimal use) and 1-2 days (several calls, a lot of web surfing, downloading, etc). Try updating your software bro, you'll lose nothing, just make sure that you'll only be using the SE update service and not from any other site.

                  Hello,

I have a question and hope you can help me.
I'm going to buy one of SE phones but I have no idea which one, can you tell me your opinion?
I want to buy SE Elm or SE W595, which one is better?

                  thx

Just to say that i've been using W595 for 1 year and 2 months. Use it for simple tasks i.e. messaging/calling, listening to music.
Have never installed any software updates.

                    Pros:
                    - durable & dependable.
My hp is always on 24 hours, n has only hung a few times so far

                    Cons:
                    - experienced occasional echoes during phone calls lately
                    - a bit slow sometimes
                    - need to charge battery daily vs every 2-3 days in the beginning

Overall, a good n durable phone in comparison to my last Nokia 5610 which had lots of repair problems in the 1st year of use.

One example is the when ur files get corrupt or phone hangs, mostly this happens when u connect usb to a pc and improperly disconnects it.

As far as i know the latest software for w595 is R3EG004 (you can check your phone's software by accessing SE's "secret menu", just go to standy (main screen) then press > * < < * < * then go to Service info then Software info, ur phone's current software is the first line there.
                                NOTE:
When accessing the SE's secret menu, while doing the combination just ignore whatever comes up on the screen. This secret menu applies to every SE phone. By the way guys its recommended to update ur phone once every two months. That's what ive been doing and ive got no problem so far. Ive had this phone for a year now.

just a tip guys, in order to optimise ur w595, avoid hanging and restarting, regularly update your software using SEUS (sony ericsson updater service) http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/support/phones/detailed/optimiseyourphonesoftware/w595?cc=ph&lc=en. Its always worth it to have the latest software installed. Ive been using mine without any hassles nor experiencing problems.

                                        Guys,
I'm going to buy SE mostly for listening music and for taking pictures seldom. Can anyone tell me the best slider phone for this purpose for $150-250?

                                        Thank you!
