    Hey Alin,

the answer to your question is yes; provided that u hv a memory stick large enough to store your converted movie. And when converting the movie, say from divx or wmv to mp4 (to my knowledge, the phone can only play mp4 and 3gp format), you have to set the video size to 176x144. i've tried some other size but that caused the phone to only be able play audio only (maybe someone out there can advise us other correct size for the video). btw, the video playback for this phone is just average. so dont expect too much.

    cheerios...

          Firmware Alert!

I got my phone from the “Sony Style” store in the USA. It had a few issues. I called to Sony Ericsson Tech Support. OMG, according to Tech Support, there are other versions of the firmware in the W800i--not authorized by Sony Ericsson. The menus in my phone were not the same as the menus in the phones coming directly from Sony Ericsson Online. Some of the advanced menus are simply not in my phone. I was told to return the phone, and to get one directly from Sony Ericsson--as these were the only phones Sony would guarantee to be correct. i.e. don’t buy an unlocked version; buy a version that comes directly from Sony Ericsson that has all functions enabled.

So, if you are having, “Bluetooth” headset support issues, SMS “Validity Period” issues, problems accessing WAP/Internet with your service provider, … it is due to the firmware.

Oh, and to the people on this site that are telling the readers that the K750i and the W800i are basically the same. That is not so--even according to Sony. Call them and ask! Also, I’ve used both. The Orange phone has--among other things: a more durable plastic--i.e. Walkman strong, different shaped buttons, a studier case--due to the lack of the sliding camera door--which causes the K750i body to flex and squeak, 512mb memory stick, Walkman headphones, … So, if you don’t mind the orange color--i.e. Walkman brand--the W800i has $100 of extras.

                Edison,,
Ok, I just saw a picture of this phone that its diferent(it is not a light reflecting) on the back of the phone, if you give me an email I can send you the picture so you can see the difference betwen colors and a circle at side of the word "ZOOM" of the camera that is to notice to see, one is orange and the other is grey. and if you see the back color is grey to, belive me, Im not joking.

                AM
You say that the diffenerce is the software, so I have a question, I saw comments of users that they upgrade the software of the Se k750 and when they connected to the Pc it will recognize as an W800, is it true? because if the difference is just software I will buy the Sek750, Im asking this because of the color, the w800 looks like a toy for me.

                Thanks.

                  No comment, just a question...
I'd like to know if the W800 has an expanable memory, ik know it has a memory of 521MB, but is it possible to slide in a memory card?
                  Thanks in advance

                    To Victor:
The differences between the W800 and K750 are marginal. Specification wise the phone is exactly the same, yes with the W800 you get a larger memory stick (if that option is chosen). The only difference is software related, K750 geared towards Business use, W800 geared towards Multimedia. The choice is yours alone. I have both but would rate W800 slightly better.

I prefeer the gray version but I don't know if its going to be available.

                              Leo,
No, No, No! Get a PCMCI Adapter, or USB adapter that will hold the MS, and use the Memory Stick. That was the idea of a the Memory Stick!!!

Rafael, you are choosing between the D500 and W800 because of 1 hr. of video? Did you choose your camcorder based upon the reception of its phone?
Anyway, my wife has the D500, and I have the W800. The D500 is easier on the eyes and a bit easier to use. The Sony is more fun--in general. The D600--which you did not mention--may be the W800's equal.

                                  To: Victor,

You have not looked very well--have you! The W800i has a larger memory stick. So, in the end, if you get a larger stick, you will have spent the same amount of money. And, may I suggest, read the reviews on this site!!!

Ok, the macro mode is where you can taking pictures at a very close range (say 30cm). If you use normal mode while taking pictures from a close range they will go blur. But if you would use macro mode the pictures would still be quite a good quality
