im seriously thinking of buying this phone, but there are few things i would like to find out.
1) can u set mp3s as ur ringtone?
2) can u transfer video clips from pc to phone
3) any applications u can download for the phone such as gps navigation

i had many phones, all type of brands... i had a sony ericsson w800 and was really good... couldn't complain about it.. now i have sony ericsson w810 ... it is true that the speakers are not so loud as w800 and u cant cover the lenses, but... its a great phone !!!

Depending on the compagny you signed a contract with, the firmware has been modified and this option removed so they can charge you for mp3 ringtunes downloads.
You're going to need to flash the memory

This phone is great, i used have a samsung z140 but the memory was S***. The sony ericssons or the best phones out for music, the one thing i dont like or the head phones they keep slipping out, maybe cos i have big ears, i dont know. I would rate this phone a good 8

its a rubbish phone there are far better designed sony ericssons out there. the phone freezes up and requires turning off for reboot, this has happened to my friends as well as mine.
also the top buttons are too close together. you find yourself constantly closing the walkman function as it seems to want 2 turn on every time you press another button near it.
in my opinion, opt for one with squarer buttons at the top.
altho, the camera and features are good.

This phone is excellent! It is like an entertainment system compressed for your hand. There is virtually nothing I can say I'm dissappointed about. Never have I used a another phone that meets my every expectation. The screen resolution is amazing as the 2 megapixel camera. The FM radio is crystal CLEAR with the earbuds it come with. The themes are are magnificent with animations. I strongly recommend this phone to anyone!

- We can't record musics from the FM radio
- If you want to watch video clips from the phone the resolution must be 176x144 pixels.

Hello, I'm writing from Turkey...
I have used W810i for 7 months. W810i's technical specifications are very good. I had no problems with the cell phone. There are some small disadvantages.
- Video recording quality (176x144 pixel 3GP format)
- The cell phone's speaker is not too loud
- No lens cover
Advantages:
- Great sound quality with megabass
- 2 Megapixel camera with autofocus
- Dual leds flash
- Long battery life
- Good design
- Rich box contents
- Radio with RDS support
I recommend W810i to everyone...

hi, can anybody tell about the video player in this fone se w810i? is it comparabe to smartmovie player in nokia symbian? does it play video in 90 degree rotated mode in full screen? thanx in advance...

i am getting tired of peeps who makes nasty comments in this thread but never mention their names. anyway to answer a comment about the orange buttons.
first of all, you're a fan of another brand coz you are not used to using sony ericsson phones.
the buttons are there and of different color to tell you that the phone has a separate function as a music phone. if your fingers are humongous this phone is not for you. if you like loud phones that make you numb after listening to it, this phone is not for you.
i have used other brands and the menus, features and quality of this phone ranks among the top. and yes i am a fan of this phone.

no sorri bisi no video calling on this fone. if they did it would be the ultimate fone i think. nice design, but needs 3G capabilities
