Guyz, this phone is really good! I bought this new W810i a week ago and I am really happy about, it has everything that is the need of the time! The only thing which goes against this phone is that it doesnt have a shutter or camera lens protector!! Else it is fantastic with huge memory....
I like it and I recommend you to buy IT!

Auz...I too get the same readings for file system of my Memory Stick? In WinXP it shows as FAT with a total capacity of 463MB, available only 462MB. As for the phone, there's 21.10MB, available 21.09MB of memory. 50MB aren't shown could be of the FAT file system. But I'm no expert! :P Sorry for the dry answer :o)

Mark and other, you definitely can change themes!! There are thousands of other great and animated themes for SE810i. This site is a good example www.zedge.net Download any themes you like in THEME folder and simply choose to set!

For those who wish to purchase this model but in a WHITE version, it's out! Just Google it...you'll get plenty of links! I'm sticking to my cool black one :P

This phone uses optical zoom of 1X and has digital zoom upto 4X. 1X cannot be called "zoom" as this is the standard shooting mode. Digital zoom is a useless feature as the picture quality is lost and grains begin to show in the image when the digital zoom is activated.

Haven't heard of any phone which use optical zoom higher than 1X. Not even an N80!

i was wondering if this could save me some battery:

turning the brightness of the display to 50% instead of 100%?

question about sms messages. how many can it store? I txt a lot and hate having to go and weed out the messages I dont want and some I want to keep... current phone v3 only holds about 80 msgs. and it's soooo slow to type... how is this phone for text input?

Also, the camera uses DIGITAL zoom.... about the only thing youre going to find on a phone camera really as there is just no room for moving lenses....

Great, I had it for 2 days love it..... upgraded from my K750i. Only thing that is missing is the camera cover like my k750i. Other than that the quad band ensures better reception. Another great product from SE.

I am trying to go for W810i bc It’s quad-band, no need of installing sw on PCs and that the MMC-60 stereo cable is included in the package. Are all these true guys???? If yes then can you please tell me where and what the cheapest price is? Thanks.

As posted in the "Reader Comments" section:
                                    (sorry for the duplicat post)
                                    Just got the w810 two days ago. Only made two calls and one text message because I'm still using my previous phone - An LG 4010. Traded in an Audiovox SMT5600 (iMate SP3, etc) for the w810 because the 5600 was giving poor recption. Also, that damn 5-way button was a pain in the... er... neck. Did like the text message confirmation feature of the 5600, though. Wish the w810 had it for regular txt and not just for picture messages. Also, I'm not too excited about the choice of ring tones. I set mine to the "Ringlord" ring tone. Would rather have something like the "standard" ring tone of the SMT5600. I do think the "Ravi" and "Hong Kong Action" ring tones in the w810 are kind of interesting, though :-}
I find the buttons a bit difficult to "feel" properly. Especially the two un-down buttons on both sides. I also have difficulties using the volume buttons. Perhaps, once I've used this handset more often I will become more comfortable with the buttons.
I like the appearance of the S-E w810. It seems to have a lot of cool features. I used to think "what's the point of getting a phone with camera, music player, etc." Hence, my previous handset is the LG 4010 which is a basic phone with minimal features in a neat, slim, flip-up design. The w810 is a major contrast to the 4010 and I'm pleased with that.
Can anyone provide a link to a photo of the (limited edition?) white version of the w810?
As for removing the SIM - Yes, a difficult task, indeed. TIP: Use a wooden toothpick to lift the edge of the SIM as you slide the opposite edge with your thumb. Lucky for me, the SIM I'm currently using has a bit of laminate lifted at the edge. So, I use it as a "handle" to lift the card for easy removal ;-]
I'm hoping all goes well with the w810 because my service provider may not offer another exchange. I've tried one Samsung P207, two Audiovox SMT5600s, rejected a Blackberry 7100g... Don't want to push my luck - They'll probably tell me to take a hike :-D
Anyway, great site. I appreciate all the effort put in by those responsible for this site and it's participants. The reviews are very informative. Thanks to all! (especially my service provider ~heh heh~)

optical soom is better than digital zoom. digital zoom just uses the camera software to enlarge it whereas optical is in the lens and zooms it without loss of quality.

Well I looked in to all the phones that nearly had the same of every thing inclusive of the nokia n70 and n90 but there swivel screen gives problems so I opped for sony ericsson W810i . I have it now for 4 weeks and wow its more than I wanted espesially the soft ware upgrade that you don't have to go to a place for you to do it, freakin nice. My previous phone was the se K700i and fell 3m high onto a concreat floor and still works my daughter has it now.The games on the W810i is gr8t especially the 3D ones .The walkman side with the sony ericsson earphones has the best sound around .The camera you can only get better in a dedicated digital camera of more than 2megpixal camera ,I'm not going to go further because there are to much to tell and spoil the fun in a new phone , all I can say is that YOU WON'T BE SORRY YOU BOUGHT THE W810i forget the nokia's n70 and n90 range my n90 lasted 2 weeks before it bonked out.
