Can you tell me if there is any way when your writing a text that you can insert somebodies mobile number. Probably not explaining this clearly....when I had a nokia you could go to "insert contact" and scroll to the contact in your phone book and attach the number via text message. I prefer this to business cards as its easier for me. Can you do this on the w810i

Many Thanks

        Hi,

I just ordered a Samsung E900 from O2 on upgrade over the phone [The girl talked me out of the W810i] ...

.... I think I may have made a mistake - it doesnt have vide and ring at the same time and am not sure about the heat sensitive buttons.

... Any constructive comments - is the E900 better than the W810i????

        Thanks

        Chris

The battery cover? Are you sure? Coz mine opens and closes smoothly. Make sure that when you close it, the cover lies flat on the unit from the end and slide upward, otherwise, you really wont be able to close and open it properly. It has no backlash and I even dropped my phone and it didnt disengage. It also is inconspicuous as it does not have any protruding latches/buttons.

To answer some stup*d question, of course it has a key lock. All new models have keypad lock. Give me one brand which doesnt.

The battery cover is not properly designed. It is impossible to get it off once the battery is inside. There is no proper grip. Other than that seems like a great phone.

                Jojokulit:

Thanks for your observation. The reason why W810 and 3250 are being pitted against each other is they were both released almost at the same time (in the Philippines, anyway) and were both branded as music phones. The Nokia model you mentioned is not yet released so its pointless to compare them. Aside from the smartphone capability of the 3250, featurewise, everything else is almost the same. I have had a smartphone before (Ngage QD) and aside from the emulator, I found other apps quite useless. I respect your opinion that with the current price, you find the PhP3k difference to be a big factor in choosing the 3250. As for me, a better music player, better camera w/ light, practicality (you can put the phone in your pocket w/ the heaset connected, you can also text easily with it connected), looks and other unique features are well worth the 3k difference. It all boils down to individual preference. =)

@ab...to install a new theme, very simple & straight forward. When d'loading a theme from the net, save it in a folder on your pc, then simply drag 'n' drop in your either card or phone 'theme' folder. After doing that just go in the MENU/ORGANIZER/THEME section and simply select one! I got plenty animated & cool ones from www.zedge.net all for free!

@Tangoman...I experienced same problem (?) with handsfree mode. I had my FM radio on, headset on, auto answer on, with the difference I had SOUND ON...what happened was, while I was listening to the radio, it got cut off, off course, and as I didn't hear any ringtone, didn't realize I received a call!!! ;o)
@Auz...re-Xilisoft, I got both versions, personally I prefare the 2.1.50 and tried these settings for my W810i 3GP videos:
                                  Video Section...
                                  Video Codec: mpeg4
                                  Video Size: 176 x 144
Bit Rate: 200 (for sharper frames)
                                  Frame Rate: 15
                                  Aspect Ratio...
                                  Crop: Top 20, Bottom 20
                                  Pan: Top 20, Bottom 20
                                  Audio Settings...
                                  Audio Codec: mpeg4aac
                                  Bit Rate: 32
                                  Sample Rate: 32000
A 16:9 Widescreen format worked 100% perfectly on this superb phone! The only problem I had whilst playing music videos on it, had no synchronization, so had to recode the orginal file before converting it to 3GP format. BTW both @ mpeg4 & h263 for 16:9 or 4:3 mode worked ok.
@Auz...back to being the master :p I'm only an ametuer unfortunately...the masters are the ones who invented this cute machine @ SE ;o)
@all...with USB cable on and at File Transfer mode (no phone features available) after I finish with transfering (drag 'n' drop) to the folders, and switching off the USB connection (safely) I get the 'White Screen' mode for a few of seconds. Does anybody get that mode? In the meantime I'm gonna try to check for a f/w update....cheerio!

Mann. The dropped calls are fixed with a firmware upgrade (i think so anyway).

I upgaded my f/w last week and haven't had a dropped call since. (except for once when I was in a bad reception area that always gave me problems on my old phone).

Before the upgrade, it would drop calls about 10% of the time, not too often, but often enough to be annoying.

Try the f/w upgrade and hopefully it will fix this issue. (as well as the flashing light issue) I'm very happy with the phone now.

My W810i always drop the call, I used Siemens S65 never had the problem, think before U buy, nice walkman & camera but it's useless if your call always drop, it's not a cellphone but a walkman.
