Hey Chanmel:
Take a 2mp picture and upload it to your computer via bluetooth or data cable and see if it stays at 2mp or if it drops to VGA...

The reason why I told u that the W810i took micro SD card is because you didnt take the time to look at the specs of this phone. You could have looked here on gsmarena or sony ericsson website and found out that both the W810i and PSP take the same memory stick, but since you didnt bother to take the time to do some reading, I posted you with the wrong answer so that you would wake up to stop asking ignorant questions. And this goes for all you guys that keep asking these rediculous questions regarding specs on this phone... try reading the specs 1st and maybe you will find your answer. And to those that can spell or use proper words with proper punctuation... get off this forum... Your wasting our time

quick non-biased review of the w810i from me.
-phone functionality- 8
-phone design- 9.5
-performance- only had it for an hour- 7
functionality tests:
confusing controls... haven't even figured out how to have the camera "flash" when i take a picture. the best i could do was leave the flashlight on and take a pic. picture quality in the dark was very bad. autofocus feature was very disappointing. the sound is excellent. the features were O.K. I uploaded all of my songs into the little 512mb card in a matter of a few minutes via usb 2.0. the bluetooth functions perfectly for 1.2.
design test:
this phone totally looks great, feels great, and doesn't weight much. it is suprisingly small, about the size of a credit card... it's also quite thin, maybe the size of the average middle-finger nail. the buttons feel great; im a proficient texter, so this was a big plus, apart from my old SE, nokia, and moto, where the buttons were all either too hard to push in, too small, or just plain uncomfortable. these buttons actually have a good feel, and pushes in without a fuss.
performance test:
somewhat annoyed at trying to figure out all of the features.
bottom line:
great phone, probably better than most phones out there ATM. Don't expect too much from the camera though... worth the buy? Yes. especially if you want a phone with a good mp3 player.

Why are people saying that the memory card used by this fone is the Micro SD card?
It is not, if look look both on here and sonyericsson.co.uk you will see that it accepts
Memory
Memory Stick PRO Duo™
So therefore it is the same memory used as the PSP.
2 people have now said that it uses Micro SD, look at the spec of the fone before posting!!

Its limited to 100 songs due to the internal memory limits. If u want more, you will have to get a micro sd stick to store more mp3's.

Right, my turn for asking a retarded question then methinks! I've got the Motorola ROKR at the moment, thought iTunes would make it the best option, obviously I was wrong! It only accepts mp3's of certain bitrates which is a real pain and has a limited number of mp3 files (100) which the library can handle. Can anyone who knows about the w810i or just has the w800 tell me whether I'm likely to have either of these problems with this phone? Cheers, Steve.

To Adam:
No, the psp uses memory stick duo pro's while the W810i uses SD memory cards. Please read the specs on this site or SE direct before posting ignorant questions

I heard a rumour that Orange has one month exclusivity of the w810 with their new marketing ploy including Christina Aquilera, if this is true how can o2 be selling this phone at the end of this month when orange have only just posted it as coming soon on their web site, any useful info would be looked upon kindly.

i can confirm what was said about o2 releasing this handset on thursday. i too have contacted them. it was due for release on the 27th but delayed to the end of march now. shops have the dummy model in but no real handsets. and the telephone sales team cannot preorder them for you so you have to wait until thursday before you order one.

For those cribbing about the price, heres the reality check. The price is always higher for early adoption. The phone is not even released in all markets and already your jumping to conclusions over price. All the available phones are being imported from Hong Kong right now because thats the only market its become available. Give it a couple of weeks, so that it is available in all the regions and then see the real price. Just because your antsy and can't get one for the current exorbitant price doesn't mean you have to trash SE. Early adopter prices always have a big mark up, and thats the premium you pay for wanting to get your hands on one ahead of the rest. Thats economics and a bit of common sense. Stop cribbing and be a bit patient.

Copied and pasted:
@W810
About your image size problem... if you transfer by bluetooth, the picture is resized. If you want the real size, transfer by data cable...
This is what I did with my K750i
My Response:
Ok, so what your saying is that the only way to get the 2mp picture From the phone To the computer and have it maintain its 2mp size is that it has to be done thru data cable..??
That is so odd. But then again ive never had camera phone with over vga resoultion so i cant compare it and say that its a SE software issue. But if thats the way they designed it, so be it.

price of SE w810 is $599.99! compared with w800, d added $250 will give u EDGE, less internal memory, more contacts, older bluetooth version, revamp browser, and less talk time! oh i almost forgot, d newly made plastic for a new (but kinda same old boring design of K700, K750, W800) suggestion, sony ericsson must hire additional designer/s... nice work on removing joystick though.. its up to w810's buyers whether they are willing to give SE additional $250 for its disadvantages and advantages against w800..
http://www.welectronics.com/gsm/SONYERICSSON.shtml
http://gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone2=1089&idPhone1=1402
and let's not forget the aforementioned software issue about w810... additional $250, is it worth it???
