I dnt undastand y SE had to drop their standards and make this phone when ther was a W900 already, the W900 combined the W810 and K750 and abit of K800
ALL into 1 fone = W900, nw y was it necesarry to drop sum of those thngs and make W850 wit out Auto Focus,and without huge internal memory

hey ihave the sony ericsson w850 and its so not good ive had it for 8 weeks and its stuffed i power it on and it switches off on me lyk da light flashes on den off soooooooooooooooooooooooo not worth it so now im gettin an upgrade to get da se w950 for your information pplz 3 network mobiles are really crap so toodles

not bad phone, just wen i got it the speaker fuked up straight away, i like how you can play music and do what ever else you want 2 do, with out the music stopping it just goes 2 next song, i got da white one, looks cool, could of been a bit slimer.
cool phone n getting da 1gb card for free is a bonus

most of us are bein too bias...each single phone has its own pros and cons. we cant expect any company to produce a perfect phone. if they do, the market will be in trouble. for each single phone, they may seem to lack something but they are good in something. lets take se w850i and compare it nokia music 5300. w850i may be good in terms of music functions but lacks in terms of price. 5300, cheap and affordable + the ability to use different and interesting applications. come on guys....let us have an unbias mind. fighting and comparing brings nothing......think wisely.......

the slide on this phone is to sticky annoys me and the video (qcif) resolution is crappp...looks abit bad to...the walkman music player is good...i would rather have W810i W850i really isnt a a good phone...W810i is better the only differnces is bigger screen and AF ..on W810i..

Bought this phone last week because i'd heard really good things about it.
Played with it for a couple of days and gave it to my son, this phone does not even come close to the w810 i had previously and certainly no-where near as good as the N73 music edition i have at the moment.
the camera is rubbish and the sound is terrible compared to the two phones i've mention and the slider mechanism is, well flimsy.
All in all i would not reccomend this phone to anyone. If you want a walkman phone get the w810 far better all rounder than this heap of! no i'm too polite to say it.
For something much better look at the n73 music edition it's first class in every way music and camera functions are far better than the w850.
Shoot me down if you wish all you w850 lovers but i've had many sony ericssons t610, k700,k750,w800 and w810, i still have my w800 my wife has my old w810 and now my son has the w850 so trust me when i say they don't even touch the N73 Music Edition.

I have got this set since December... But I have got one problem might some of u ppl have faced which is when I call my hearing speaker's voice deteriorates and it also deteriorates when I am saying something.. It produces constant voice damaging sound to ears

yes @ penguin, my frends W850 flashes different colourz wen playin music: purple, blue-ish,orange,red-ish

penguin I may be wrong but I believe they stopped the multi coloured idea before production started and they went for the single orange light.

i brought this phone for about a month.. i found that the video seem to be blur... not as clear as w800 and others model... is that any problem... can anybody give some help... plzzz..

hey guys,
has any one got the version of the w850i that flashed DIFFERENT colours when music is being played? my orange lights just flashes but i have seen versions where the light goes blue, violet, red and orange.
any idea guys?

Its your perosnal choice Faddy. Use the compare function on this website. They are fairly similar but in my opinon W850i is better.
1) ROKR E6 is taller/wider/heavier but slimmer.
2) Same screen
3) ROKR E6 has a 3.5mm headphone jack built in, W850i has 3.5mm converter in box.
4) ROKR E6 has no EDGE or 3G which is very unusual, W850i has 3G.
5) ROKR E6 has a document viewer.
6) Neither camera appears to have autofocus.
As I said its your choice but I would go for the W850i every time.

This phone is great. yes it does support mp4. though no zoom for the 1 & 2mp resolutions, that's fine. main function of this fon is for music player though. it's very user friendly and easy to navigate. the navigation buttons are problems to those with big thumbs or fingers.video calling? great! i suggest you buy a crystal casing or if not a screen protector maybe since the casing is somewhat worry-free from scratches even when put in and out of your jeans. the slider is smooth and i've been using for 4 months already. it has not loosen up yet. if you're a text (SMS) addict then why not open the fon for a while and auto keypad lock so that the slider won't loosen up that easily. i only found one flaw with regards to the casing. the back part of the sliding (the metal part with the walkman logo) that is where i have scratches and i wonder how the fon get it. anyways cool fone. simple features. and what i love with this fone is multitasking. isn't it that great. really great for gaming! if you want more details, i'd like to help. thanks guys
