My Girlfriend Has W550 and I can't bear to have the same phone, so was looking at W850 as Challenger in the 'coolest phone' contest that we don't have running :-). I COULD put up with only one speaker, I like the flashy lights idea, slider is almost as cool as swivel of 550. Are all the pretty menues and background graphics the same on 850? Does composition of txt work the same (I can't write them on her phone - am too used to Motorola, but can learn...)
Was considering Z610, but small screen, nearly ugly clam style and small mem put me off,,, despite cool reflections and outside screen... or is it worth considering?
Any thoughts or suggestions guys?

TO BAD SUGAR
This has 1 speaker NOT 4(must be your eyes ha ha)
TO MIC
I cannot comment on the K800 as this W850i is my 1st SE mobile but I think this phone sounds great especially with the headset. I'm more than happy with it. I've just converted a CD into MP3 format using the software provided and it sounds pretty good to me! Hope that helps.

You CAN answer a call by sliding the phone up.
You CANNOT end the call by sliding the phone down.
Do not be fooled either by thinking that the person on the other line hangs up before you and you slide the phone down thinking it ends the call. It DOESN'T.

I cannot decide which model to buy W850 or K800.. what i need is a good mp3 music player with good sound quality. K800 comes with 64 mb card wheras w850 has 1 gb card ..but i understand that w850 does not cut off the call when u push slider down. Can anyone advise??

Check here for the pictures.. it's not that good.. but like i said.. sony tends to fix these stuff on later firmware upgrades.
The poor picture quality was present in the early stages of the k800i as well. It was later fixed by upgrading the firmware.

I've had this phone for 3 days now and I'm really putting it through its paces trying all the various functions available. I've used bluetooth for MP3 and photo file transfers and played walkman and radio for several hours and the battery has lasted for the full 24 hours. Bearing in mind, it was heavy usage, to me this was good. If you are only using this phone for calling and texting you would get 4 or 5 days on a charge. It works well with the SE bluetooth stereo headset which you can buy( I got mine free though) The sound quality is far superior to my previous Samsung Z400 but I think maybe the samsung has the better picture quality even though they are both 2MP. Samsung go for looks whereas SE seem to be designed more for music. I do believe this phone will accept the 4GB card but I've personally not tried it. My 1GB is half full at the moment! Mine is the gun metal grey colour. It comes in 3 colours, black, white and grey. The menu system is slightly different to samsungs but I've had no trouble with it and find it easy to use. A lovely walkman mobile.

This model is out in singapore. Tried fiddling with it in a mobile shop and I'm not impress by it. No auto focus is fine but the built quality is poor compared to my k800i and it certainly doesn't matches up to my 1 year old samsung d600 too. Making things worst is, it's even more expensive than my k800i with just a renewed version of mp3 player.
Guys, if you already own a k750/w800 or k800i. Stick with it. No point forging out $$$ for this over rated phone. Wait for the next version of slider from sony eric.

@JusT,
I'm not misleading anyone. The K800's music player IS the same as that of the W810, as they are based on exactly the same software -Walkman 1.0. The only difference in the K800 is the absence of the actual 'Walkman' logo in the player. Essentially they ARE the same. Don't be fooled by cheap marketing and brand-recognition exploitation.

To add, i think the camera quality is fixable by a firmware upgrade. I remember the k800i having the same issue with crappy camera quality even though it's a 3.2 mp phone.
SE always manages to patch things up on the next firmware release
