I contacted Sony Ericsson about a wrong charger issue, and asked about the Battery Life thing, they told me that they want you to drain the battery completely and charge it for 12 hrs straight the first 2 times to build up the battery life

Bought this phone after giving away my W810. So I'll basically compare the two. I find the W850 quite impressive. W850 is better looking, Music is better, speaker louder, pictures smoother & screen larger though not brighter. I really miss the auto focus and more powerful flash and solid build of W810.
An overall very good phone but will likely upgrade to W960 as soon as it is available.

A month or so ago i posted an opinion on this phone, at the time i only had it for 3 days, it's been a month now, back then i said that the slide was tough, but it relly loosend up alot, to be honest it's a bit to loos for my tast now, but i'm very picky.
the review on this site says that you have to buy a memory card out of your own pocket, but i got my'n with a 1gig included, witch was a relief for me coz this phone uses a "memory stick pro duo", witch is very expensive becoze it's a high speed qality product, and is just a tad smaller than a normal SD card.
I got a virus on my phone, you should be carefull coz that costs about R100 to fix,
you will have to take your phone in to upgrade your software to firmware to download some software.
Anyone know were i can download a antivirus for this phone?

To ib4z. The front camera cannot be used to capture pictures. It only get active during a video call. I downloaded camera tools and set the main camera on cam 1. So now i can capture images with the front cam.

W850i its a sexy slide phone... Stylish n has a nice walkman in it.... I Like to have one........

to 2IAX dont be too emotional..if you think this phone wasnt too gud for you it's ok..nowadays a lot manufactures produces new phone so pls choose which one that you like..for sure SE especially walkman phone is the best phone..like this phone

Its an ok phone but it blanks right out at times for no apparent reason and the battrey life isnt al of that but i still like it

You are all mad!! I have this phone for a year now and it never turned itself off! And the other guy 3 down is also mad! The camera does not support autofocus and are not 16M colours. Go to gsmarena.com to see the truth. Please guys, dont post crap if you do not know what you are talking about.

Very Good Features with camera autofocus-> it doesnt have auto focus
Very Good Performance with memory phone more than 64 MB Excellent Performance.->it has 16mb

was a big motorola fan for years until i bought this phone.its the most amazin phone ive ever had and the music player is amazing
dont think ill ever go back.one thing i really liked bout the motos was the caseing.metal shell with a rubber coatin(z3 and z6).they dont fall off tables or slip outta your hand.so if you listen mister S.E.,how about it then.the perfect finsh to the best phones on the market.the W850i,W580i and the W910 would have been fantastic with this kind of shell.for a slide phone you cant beat it.S.E. are the best

the reason the screen will be bright and then suddenly go dark is because you are covering up the light sensor. The light sensor is the clear oval located on the top of the screen unit. Remember that the w850 is not the w850i, the w850i has most of the bugs fixed up and is now quite a reasonable phone for the price.

i bought my W850i last Year !
the battery lasts a long time well used to it used to last Battery 4-5 days now it lasts 1-2 sometimes 1 day! ???
even with Walkman it drains the battery ...something is not right ..it might just be my Phone.....
