Sony Ericsson W850

Hey, I just got this phone a couple of days ago and so far I think its pretty great. But the problem is that when I plugged it into the computer with the USB cable and used the 'Disk2Phone' program it says that there is no device and then I unplugged my phone from the computer and its just a blank white screen. So I took out the battery and tried turning it on again but then a red light thats on the power button keeps on blinking. Does anybody else have this problem? What is it suppose to mean?

I have this phone for quite sometime already and i'm really happy for the functionality both its phone and music side. Its so cool man as they say u know. No regrets whatsoever really. I bought this with complete research first at the internet untill I'm really satisfied. For me its really good, fast when you connect online but of course it all depend on your server, right? or left. It doesnt matter to me if you want to buy or not. Different people different taste, likes and dislikes, research on your own to find out what u like after all it all depends on how much money you got or you would like to spend for any phone you wish to buy, right? Thats all.

this is good phn .related to IT person it related to many things .1 GB is suffeciant and go for long distance you can upgrade for traffic locater .as like you can open Google earth on this .and Remote control and AC remote control ,Dvd Remote control is available on this phone you just upgrade with a software and enjoyyy

Nice phone otherwise, however, you can tell that this is sony ericssons first attempt at a slider phone. Its not that the sliding mechanism is flimsy or anything, its just that the software of the phone is poorly written/compatible with the slide. For instance, the keypad locks itself when you slide the phone down when the phone is on the standby screen (if you are in a menu or doing anything other than being on the homescreen it the keypad doesnt lock-fair enough). However, if you slide the phone down whilst the phone is on the sleepmode clock and not on the homescreen, it comes out of sleep mode clock and goes to the homescreen and shows that the keypad is locked, however, when it goes back into sleep clock mode, the keypad unlocks itself! It also applies if you close the slider whilst the screensaver is being displayed. If you forget about this or are unaware of the situation, you can easily be phoning the last number you dialled for instance blisfully unaware of this because the phone had told you the keypad is locked but when sleep mode clock comes up the keypad unlocks itself without warning. Also, its quite slow to respond when you slide the phone up, and also when you recieve a call, sliding the phone up does answer the call, however, you cannot end the call by sliding the phone down! Ok, you can avoid the keypad unlocking itself situation by turning off both the screen saver and the sleep mode clock (or by making sure the phone is on the homescreen when you slide it down to be sure the keypad is locked), however, this is very unusual for sony ericsson and quite suprised they released this phone knowing that there software wasnt 100% compatible with the sliding mechanism. Other than this, great phone, excellent sound quality from mp3 and the camera is really very good (apart from you cannot zoom in normal mode, only in the other modes) and its a feature rich compact phone!

very disappointed
this phone is rubbish i have recived 3 in the past 2 months and the one am using now swiches off when i slide it down! i have had endless problems with the other 2. i must add i had the sony ericsson w810i it was a good phone so its not all sony ericssons that are unreliable!!!!

REALLY GOOOOD LOOKS!!
I bought this phone last year. I has previously owned a W800i. The only reason I switched over were its looks. Its the best looking phone in the market. I simply adore it. Now I'm a true Walkman Series fan. looking forward to get my hands on the W960i.

I just buy this phone.. Everything work just great. I love this phone.. The picture quality is not bad, i try to take picture in the completely dark room without light and the result is very clear. The earphones great, the sound just PERFECT.. Don't be scared with some comments that says this phone is disappointing, i guarantee u won't disappointed at all... Don't say the camera is very poor!! If u looking for an excellence music phone, u must definitely buy this, but if u want an excellence camera phone, then don't buy this..

Dont bother of these guyz. Eventhogh the video is poor the camera takes pictures very clearly (if the environment has light). I dont have seen any problems like these guyz. When I transfered my photos that seems very clear and it can be clear even it is zoomed. My phone version is new so I think that SE has fixed such problems by this version.
I have also K800i which takes pictures and videos more clear than my W850i. But W850i is famous and great in its Walkman. Great sound. I heard great bass when I connect with my Woofers and also with the W850i's Headphone.
GREAT 4 EVERY THINGZ.

Its one of my best phone I ever used. I used to be a Nokia fan but Sony Ericsson is the coolest one especially this Damn phone. Its awesome. Sound is amazing and cam is also too good. I have only problem with its LED. I dont why it had stopped functioning properly. It takes time in turning on but doesn't work when take pictures. Anyone knows how to fix it up?

I been using tis hp bout half a year.Is my second sony ericsson hp.After u use tis brand u wont consider about other brand already.Overall can consider as excellent especially the speed when u browsing files thru de hp. compare with nokia hp.Sony ericsson much better. The only problem is the message alert time coz if we use mp3 as message alert, it only play about 20 seconds. anyone noe how to increase the time of message alert???

VERY DISAPPOINTED.
Firstly, the ear mic is very poor quality.
Secondly, the memory card continuously loses its function and reverts back to the default setting and the phone doesn't recognise the card.
Overall, VERY VERY disappointed with this phone.

I have the phone, just recently purchased it. Everything about the phone is great, although i am having endless problems with my Bluetooth, worked fine for a few days, now it just wont switch on at all... Is this a common prob???

Hi guys, I'm from S.A. and recently purchased the phone. The video and picture quality is poor, everything comes out dark. The rest of the features are excellent. Takes a while getting used to but worth it in the end. As I said I was very disappointed with the camera function.

this phone is wicked me did a test and the phone gave me +-20hours of time on mxit tyhis phone is the best out there who needs gps, go buy a garmin, and hsdpa get a card. this phone is the best

my first question is how to use the bluetooth remote control and the last one is why my video quality so terrible? I can actually see the boxes but only during video, not when i take pictures,

I absolutely adore this handset! The sound quality is much better than the nokias I have had in the past and the camera is great too. Would definitely rate it as one of the best Sony Ericssons ever made.
