its a very kool phone and i love it very much, just because the walkman and the cam are very good.The only dissapointing thing is that the screen is short but that doesn't matter

My W880i was fine for about a year, and then started turning itself off and the only way to turn it on again was to remove and replace the battery. This has got gradually worse and now it doesn't charge. 4 other people I know have experienced the same problem. Sent it back to Sony and they rebooted the software and a week later the same problems started again. Now changing to a W580i
On the plus side, it is a great phone that looks good and is very user friendly.

please help me...my phone hung then i removed the batery after then i returned the battery and it didnt turn on. what happened? im so depressed right now

Nina, 11 Sep 2008When the phone charges, it is normal to see a red backlight... morethat red light u see is normal.it appears brighter when the battery is completely dead.

W880i.
the phone is okay. slim. light. easy to use.
my only problem with it is, it has no folders (for the messages) and when the messages get up to 300+ the phone slows down (but only in the message menu only) and oh, since i use sms a lot.. the parts for message can only acomod8 up to 10parts which is not good.. for me. and when the other people send you 2 or more parts of sms, the message is cut.. not good.. for me. again. haha.
other than that. the other problems will be depending on how you handle your phone.
it's been a year since i got this phone. i dropped it many times (as in, brutally dropped) yet it never came to a point where i brought it to a fixing store for cp.
it's not like _____ that has many unnecessary programs, that causes the phone to slow down. the programs installed in this phone are those that simple people need. enough for entertainment. the camera is good. handy. very unique (many people got very curious bout this phone. anywhere i go, they notice my cp. hahaha cool.) the battery has long life. the sounds are okay.
8/10 for me.
i don't want to replace this phone. but, i decided to. because, i want a cp that can create folders for messages and store many messages. if it wasn't for that, i wouldn't trade this for any cp.
sad. i'll be replacing this soon. i'll miss this cp.

the worst phone ever to step foot into this world, i own one myself, software is slow, turns off atleast three times a day, when i plug my usb cable to the computer to trasfer music, the phone switches off, an reboots, did that ever since i bought it, freezes all the time, i had the speaker repaired because know one could hear me talk, also when some one rings me the ringtone makes like a funny noise then cuts out like asif the speaker had just blown,not impressed at all.

When the phone charges, it is normal to see a red backlight illuminating the c and 3 key area, with the rest of the key pad in darkness?

I just got the phone and it is barely a week old.. i noticed a development with the back light.. when you are not operation the phone, normally the light goes off.. but when i decide to continue operation on the the back light still stays off .. is this normal?

I loved this fone. RIP. Dropped it in water the mic is messed up... I miss it allot. The BEST PHONE EVER! Real slim and total user friendly.. a must have, wish i could have it back
