Wait Karl !
what do you mean RUN and BUY?
this model is all over, w890 is out in one month!!!
w890 seems like a great upgrade for this model - no reason to buy w880 anymore...
it is the same phone but:
1. with FM radio.
2. with a bigger screen.
3. with better keys.
4. with Walkman 3.0.
and i am sure there are many other surprises :-)

I cant belive this...you ppl stating that the w610i is better then w880 have NO IDEA ON MOBILE PHONES what so ever, so just stfu already. I was kinda sceptical to the buttons on this phone first but as they all say here you get used to it and will achive the same typing speed you had on your older phones. About the Radio...Oh my god, what F00L would use the radio when you have 4-8 gigabytes of your favorite mp3`s in there? Its not a loss really.
Run and buy! :)

My w880i keeps turning off by itself at least 15 times a day. Does anyone know why?

Bobka, great analogy..you're right..how silly of me.
my next phone will be a plain phone, no features, it will be really small and sleek. I'll also carry with me a radio (your suggestion), an ipod to play mp3's, a torch, a calculator, a personal organiser, a camera, a gameboy, a laptop for web browsing, a stop watch, and a portable hard disk.
Why have one phone with all these features, when I can just carry around a bag full of gadgets.
Good thinking Bobka !

To the guy who miss a radio and rides a bus every day:
nice parallel with a 2-seat bus. I would even say that in 21st century a Walkman phone without a radio is like a mail arriving without help of a postman... oh, it is that magical thing called e-mail. there are also other things around like sattelite radio so you don't need to listen to commercials on your local FM. so it is a Walkman phone - it plays your music collectin and does a great job of it. youneed a radio - buy yourself a $5 unit and enjoy

Great phone for all of us who want something really small, but very usable.
Pros:
so small and thin - I was waiting for it for years
very hard to break - very good kind of non-slip and break resistant plastic on back and thick aluminium front plate
good attention to all details - even has tiny rubber feet on back so you won't scratch camera lens (glass cover actually) when you toss it on a table. it also helps the phone not to slip from the table when it vibrates
amazingly great for Internet surfing, e-mail and IM use - it is all built-in, no need to download Java applications. it even RSS feeds! all you have to do is to set it up right and W880i will make you forget about your home PC for most days
if you want Java applics - they work great thanks to brilliant high resolution 240x320 screen and fast enough processor (I can see my doorsteps in Gogle Maps Satellite view and directions calculated almost right away)
new Walkman v.2 player is great - good looks, easy to use, good sound quality
Cons:
yeah, it doesn't have radio and I don't care. I don't know when people actually use it - you either flying (and no FM reception up there) or driving (ever seen a car without stereo?). And if you want to get into the particular mood - you have your own playlists on Walkman
no flash for camera - that's regretful. actually the camera is a big step back from my old W800 (no auto focus either), but I don't care - I use camera only for taking attaching pictures to Contacts list. a flash, on the other side, is very useful as a simple light. I can do without it but I miss it a lot
all in all it is great phone and you can buy it on ebay around $300, which is not that expensive. it includes 1GB memory card already (mine has Sony external speakers in the box too - nice bonus). my advice is to upgrade it to the latest firmware immediately - use official SE Upgrade Service or go to your Phone Service Provider. It will give your louder sounds, better battery life (probably) and will fix some minor issues.
P.S. you wonder why people will lug iPhones around when it is not even capable of sending a simple MMS. W880i can do all you need and the size is amazing... oh, and design is just great :)

it's a walkman phone ?...but no radio. That sounds like a contradiction.
Like saying, it's Bus, but only has 2 seats.
