its the 3.5G in action, the 'H' is telli... more"E" means "Edge" network as in "GSM" only.
In the States, 3G or HSDPA isn't readily available in certain parts of the country but Edge is.
T-Mobile is rolling out 3G in certain parts of the States. ATT has a bigger 3G service area but is still limited to mainly bigger cities.
Shutting off 3G will save on battery life!
Using GSM network here in States and using larger capacity BST-40 battery and getting about 7-10 days of battery life before recharging =:)

thats a good thing
some areas only have 3G , yours is 3.5G !

This phone is absolutely amazing! defintely one the best phones I have ever bought.
I had a question which is does any one know what the small letter E means right next to the signal bars on the phone? any help would be appreciated

Ive tried it, and its a lot better than the K800I, and I also think better than the 6500 slide.

Check you connection as you probably have 3G turned on. If you don't need it, turn it off! This is usually the main culprit!!
Also, upgrade the battery to BST-40 which is a larger capacity version over the BST-33.
You might also try updating the phone's firmware but try the first two suggestions first.

It says every time that I already have the last update and only allows to re-install it.
I'm very dissapointed now :(( but thank you for your help... ;)

download it from SE website and follow the instructions from there
i upgraded my phone and its on Orange..
trust me just let me know once youv upgraded
youl see the difference;)
