By the way, I recommend it to all users to listen the same song on the W890 and a cheap MP3 player. (everything else being equal)
You will be shocked how poorly the W890 sounds.
There is a reason why there is no sound quality (playback)assessments in the reviews.

Some other facts:
- no autofocus
- no flash
- very limited memory (32MB!!!)
- no Wifi
- small screen
(Internet viewing is horrible)
Slow sales, SE profit dropped by 43% in 2008 Q1. I guess because SE rules and the W890 is a great phone with loads of features.
(or not :)
I was hoping that the C902 will be a great phone but it already got a horrible review.
So, I hope the G900 will be a great phone.

Yeah I understand that the FRONT part is made of metal but in this site it says that the BACK part is made of PLASTIC but with a metallic finish.. Maybe it was just the prototype that has a plastic back??
So the W890 then is all metal then, front and back?

great phone!! ive had it for about a month now and definitly recommend it anyone looking for a nice slim solid built phone with lota features and good battery life.
it DOES NOT lag even with music and the music quality i say is just as good as any decent mp3 player. i honestly cannot tell the different between ipod and w890.
one thing i dont like is that the plug for the charger is kind of big so it takes up two spaces on my extension cord and the program that comes with the phone is not compatible with mac users (like myself) but i can just click in drag instead to load music and files.
Buy this phone and u wont regret it.

Hey everyone! I'd like to know if the back part of the W890 is also made of metal....
I've read the review here and it says it's just made of plastic with a metallic finish but I think it's not the case with the retail version... Answers everyone.. Thanks!!

It doesn't have flash so what is the use of 3.2 mp.i must have bought the phone,but this drawback stops me for purchasing it.sony ericsson should add this feature.than the phone is complete.

Zorro: Sorry I was too generic. Please accept my apologies.
When I meant slow is when Walkman is on and you are trying to work on the other phone features, like answering a call, send a SMS, etc. Other than that, it is exactly like in the youtube video you sent.
Also, where can I get a firmware upgrade? My phone's version is 1202-7323 R1EA030 080205. I'm hoping an upgrade could improve things.
As I mentioned, I do have also a W880i and the screen brightness is undeniable brigther than the W890i.
Three other things that pisses me off on a high end phone like the W890i:
- If you have your headset plugged in, you cannot redirect the audio to a connected bluetooth device, like in the W960i.
- With the HPM-90 headset connected, you cannot read RDS info on the phone and cannot change radio stations with the headset controls.
- Being a walkman phone, you could have the ability to rate (stars) songs while listening to it. This would help listen to your favorite songs later when you want.
Again, I'm not a basher. I'm just saying that being a high end/high priced Walkman phone like this, SE could have done a better job in adding this little extra features. I don't care about Wi-Fi, flash or anything else. I love the phone's form factor and small weight. That's all.

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!
Have had this handset since it's release about 2 months ago and can not find one single fault!!!!
Love the actual design of the phone, looks slim and sexy.
The camera altho only 3.2 is brilliant, maybe they could improve it with a flash, but i've just been touching up anything i don't like on photoshop.
Connects to the computer super fast, allowing me to really personalise my handset
Comes with a 2gb memory card!! lovely!!!

Some facts (how smart to divide the World into Nokia and SE people)
Data for 2008 Q1:
1: ****a has about 40% of the market
2: ******g
3: *******a
4: ** **********s
5: Sony Ericsson has only 7.6% of the market.
By the way, SE lost about 1% (compare to 2007)I guess due to its recent superb quality of phones and customer oriented pricing.
I assume being on the fifth place really justifies all the ˝SE rules˝ screamings.

So many smart people here - SE has a good training program?
I never recommended any Nokia phone!
As a matter of fact, I only ´recommended´ SE phone. Actually I had considered C902 (SE phone!) until an independent review demonstrated its problems.
But, I still have high hopes for G900 (SE phone)
Sometimes these SE fans (fanatics is the word original meaning) can get something correct - please ignore my comments! - if you are a ´fan´ or you can not see the people (the World) other than Nokia or SE guys.
More on this later.
For God sake this is only a phone - not a sport team, or political party, or religion -- sorry may be it is for some :)

it is pretty clear he is working for Nokia!
a normal person who dislike a phone - never spends so much time in its forum!
Nokia obviously does not have an answer to this amazing phone.
it is a pretty pathetic way he try and damage it.
i do not know if SE rule, but W890 rules!
it simply have no competition.
Nokia wake up!
it is time for you to create a phone with:
- great design
- great construction
- great looks
- compact
- impressive camera
- great music abilities
unfortunetly Nokia mostly create phone that are:
- all plastic
- very big and clumsy
- very very ugly
you can learn quit a few things from SE as far as i see it.

Alternative opinion to Se hardcore fans and SE Employee - jamming this forum!
