Hey dani im very sorry for the late reply i was just busy as usual. ive bought the w890 and let me tell you in simple words it is so SPECTACULAR.Thanks for making me see sense i was going to get the N80 HAHA what a piee of garbage. Sony Ericsson's are the best mobiles for everything. Thanks Dani :)

I sell these phones day in & out at T-Mobile.
I love: HSDPA (especially with opera mini!), Camera is good. dial Buttons are a big improvement, VERY large screen, BST-33 battery (so i can swap to my SE P1i), Software very responsive and battery life alot better then most new nokia phones! (par with nk 6500s & 6300).
I Hate: Software for getting more complicated, no back button (argh!), NO side play/pause button (i change my tracks without pulling the phone out my pocket). the 'shortcut' button, the directional pad needs to be alittle bigger and the camera software is VERY basic point/shoot.
As far as pricing is concerned it is well priced in the mid-range market. Close competitor is the 6500 slide. I almost chosen that nokia as it was well built & excellently lensed Carl Z optics. Only reason why i didn't go with it was: Phone too heavy USB does not charge ur phone whilst using it as a modem and ALL the ports are ON TOP OF THE PHONE!? Increases the chance of water damage to the handset when in the rain.

hohoho...i've read not all comments,but i still the sony ericsson lovers...i've been used the SE for 4ers,and i feel comfort at all,the music,camera,internet browsing,i've recomended to many friends if they love to entertainment,they use SE now...keep movin' Sony Ericsson,make the other left behind.

i have a problem.!! the metal around the display is getting blackened(the area around is bronze in colour) in ma expresso black phone. is any1 experiencing it pls help

By the way, it is NOT natural for any phone to slow down significantly just because it has a few more numbers.

I think its just natural for any phone to slow down if you have loads of contacts, becuase both the Phone and Sim Card memory get taken up so it would slow it down.

i just bought this phone. im enjoying it. very handy and stylish. its a good phone! battery life is good. though it doesnt have a flash, its okay still. its a walkman phone =)

everything is fine about response and speed except phonebook. I repeat- I have 500 names with 800 numbers. It s work fine with 200 names with 300 numbers. but with this quantities of numbers and names, it is terible, special when typing letters to find name to send sms

i have had this phone for about a month now. i really don't know why people are complaining about how its slow. when listening to music, yes it slows down a bit. but using it without music, it is perfectly fine.
battery life is great. much better than other phones i've had.
sound quality - i think its good. it is not perfect but using it to go to work/school it is just what anybody'll need.

There is no problem! The slow response is normal (for W890!).
Remember this is a SE phone, a Sony.
Sony Style - not about performance.
Specs (the few given by Sony)looks good on paper but when you start comparing performance.....
By the way, I recommend it to all users to listen the same song on the W890 and a cheap MP3 player. (everything else being equal)
You will be shocked how poorly the W890 sounds.
There is a reason why there is no sound quality (playback)assessments in the reviews.

this is the most amazing phone i have ever seen!
It practically has no competition for those looking for a compact music phone!
it has:
- amazing clean lines design.
- solid metalic construction.
- amazing and well thought proportions.
- great music features & capabilities.
- unbeatable compactness.

Summary of the last few days activity:
These are from other users:
- Battery complaints
- Software slow (hoping a firmware update)
- screen problems (previously)
Some other facts:
- no autofocus
- no flash
- very limited memory (32MB!!!)
- no Wifi
- small screen
(Internet viewing is horrible)
Slow sales, SE profit dropped by 43% in 2008 Q1. I guess because SE rules and the W890 is a great phone with loads of features.
(or not :)
I was hoping that the C902 will be a great phone but it already got a horrible review.
So, I hope the G900 will be a great phone.
Until then, keep your old phone or look somewhere else.

I know that is new platform and expect better perfomance- ofcours that numbers are stored in tel mem. in sim storage is no problem. in last few days I tested some SE fones and no one have that terrible performance with phonebook-I hope that some upgrade or firmware will solve this- thanks Dani anyway, to tried help-regards
