why do you want him to upgrade a firmware?
do you have any known issues with some firmwares?
do you know which firmware does he have?
it may be newer than yours...

Upgrade your W890i's Firmware and then you will see the change in everything!
W890i's Display is Perfect. and the Speed of it is FAST!
anyway as i said Upgrade the Firmware on your W890i and feel the difference!

Hi There
The reason the batt is only lasting 2 days is because your 3 g is activated.Switch off the 3g and you will notice your batt will last much longer.Go 2 phone menu-setting-connectivity-mobile networks and go to where it says gsm/3g networks-select the normal gsm network and you will notice the batt will last longer

Maybe someone can help me out for a sec, does the front facing camera take pictures?
I am coming from a nokia that has a front facing camera. I use it for self photo picture taking. Can this w890 do the same?

I have the two phones. And my comparison method is "side by side" if you know what I mean....
I love SE phones, don't take me wrong. I'm just not another basher in this site.
However, the screen issue is reality. Also, the interface speed is slower than the W880i. I will go to a store and check another W890i phone besides mine and let you know.

the w880 is £100
But the w890 is £250
just because its got a 3.2mp camra and biger beter screan with newer softwear and improved batry but £150 more? is it realy worth it

W890 has two major problems:
1: battery
2: screen
You got one of these problems.
You asked why - it seems SE uses a new battery which has a design or manufacturing problem.
he problem is known for weeks but unfortunately, SE refuses to recall the faulty batteries.
SE put a phone on the market, for 500USD initially, a phone which has no any special feature but has a lousy screen and faulty battery.
The price keep falling but it does not help the customers who got a lemon phone.
Otherwise, SE rocks or not (?)

it's nice to have this phone aside from its features it also has a very enticing look... and its so slim like i can bring it everywhere without even thingking its bulkness inside my pocket

maybe you got a defect unit?
all the reviews state the W890 is totally superior over the W880.
non of the comments in this forum indicate that the screen quallity or interface speed is better with W880.
could this be a specific issue with your unit or is the rest of the world wrong?
did you read the proffetional review of gsmarena or phonearena?

Also, I've purchased this phone because I had a W880i before and I was looking for the HSDPA and the radio. However, the W890i interface is so slow compared to the W880i that it just pisses me off when I think of the price I've paid. Also the W880i screen is so much brighter and has much more contrast than the W890i that it just makes me more pissed. SE Designers...what the hell were you thinking? Give us a frigging break. You're supposed to improve...not to destroy a phone's reputation.

Can someone explain me this? Why you cannot redirect FM to the bluetooth phone? You can in the W960i, I've tested already. Why you cannot with the W890i? Is there any specific reason why? Also with the HPM-90, why you cannot control the radio? This is so stupid. You can change stations on the phone pushing the volume control for a little while. Why this does not work with the HPM-90? Any specific reason why? It would be a much better package. SE designers are so frigging stupid.....

Well iv seen and played with both 5310 and W890i
i would without even looking Take W890i
its just a better Phone. the only thing 5310 has over W890i is a Louder Speaker LOL
Just Purchase W890i you wont regret it!
