Had my W890i for a few days now and love it.
does anyone know if it has an led message indicator. i can't find anything in the manual or web, but there's something next to the shutter button on the side, and next to the green sony emblem on the back?
thanks.

i agree with this:
imo price is ridiculous, because from gsmarena's review on c902, "sony ericsson c902 is expected at about 330-350 eur" and this phone is like close to this price already?
i would rather wait if i was to spend that kind of money
i think we should boycott this phone until the price gets down to reasonable level or something better comes out!!!!
the price dropped about 100 usd already but still too high!!!
se demonstrated that their greed has no limit - luckily people responded (lack of sales)and we need to keep it up - do not give in even if you have money to burn!

There are a few unanswered questions below regarding A2DP (stereo BT).
did anyone try it?
what is the sound quality and user experience?
can radio go via BT (yes we know the wired headset will also have to be plugged in this case as it is the antenna)?

why are you comparing w890 with nokia 6500 slide? these aren't even remotely similar in any way.

Does anybody know if you can you transfer the sound of the FM radio to the Bluetooth? (Of course, with the wired headset attached to the phone as an antenna).

I received this 'phone two days ago, following a detailed review of the current offerings. I chose it because I wanted a compact 'phone with the added benefits of playing music, listening to the radio and taking photos (my previous 'phone was just that - with none of the extras).
I originally thought I'd like good mobile internet too and so toyed with the iPhone in the shops. The iPhone is fantastic, but has some drawbacks and a high price. So I scaled back that ambition and settled on the W890 in black.
I'm very pleased with the style, quality and delightfully small size. The radio is effective, allowing me to listen to Radio 4 to and from work with surprisingly good, mostly clear reception.
I've just transferred a load of mp3s over from my PC and so am beginning to try out the Walkman functionality, which has a good UI. I also like the UI for the camera and photo albums. The tagging of photos is a great feature.
The keys are undoubtedly small, but they give a good response and I can now control it pretty well - apart from the volume keys which I still tend to need to look at to press correctly.
I have been concerned about the battery life, since it seemed to be fully consumed on my first day of usage. Today, however, after a poor start it seems to be eeking out more power as time goes on. Maybe it's still calibrating the power meter...
Other than that potential issue, I'm very pleased.

To the person tht asked about the rear cover, yes this phone has a rear metallic cover :)
But about the music part it doesn´t have any difference compared to w910 and w580. The music quality throug headphones is the same

I want to buy this phone but not before I test the loudspeakers (probably Ill test them tommorow in the shop).
My question is: Are loudspeakers loud or not loud? Some ppl here say they are not loud wheras the review rated it with 78 dB (the loudest I hav found till now?) however the reviewer says something different :-/
So is it loud now or not? I dont care if ringing isnt loud or sms sound isnt loud... I am asking about the loudspeaker performance when hearing music with Walkman Player 3.0. Do you think its louder than N-Gage? (Because I own one and when I buy something new I only want to see improvements) I am going to test loudspeakers tomorrow as I said but I dunno if it will hav any mp3 music on it in the shop. Anyway if someone can make a statement about loudspeaker loudness AND performance (I heard high and low tunes are bad).
And another short question: When using headset with 3mm Adapter does the sound quality get worse?

SE phones have a great user interfac with good build quality. I bought the W880i because I needed a phone that does not stick out of my pocket. The problem is that it doesn't suppport the 850 band so I always lose signal. Also, the keypay is much to small for a man's hands. SE is going in the right direction with the addition of the 850 band and bigger keypad, but why is HSDPA not supported in the US??? Nevertheless, I will be replacing my 880i with the 890i. I guess I'll stick with "EDGE" for now, and no more dropped calls!
