This phone is sexy (even thhough) I don't actually own 1, one of my friends do, and every time I see him I always use his phone as if it was mine, either way I will hopefully be getting one soon, because the screen is jus enourmous and the features are amazingly entertaining, only a fool would buy a memory card for this internal 470mb phone!

ive never heard of a mpeg4 size screen its a video format like qvga..Qvga is a screen size as well = 240x320 pixels!!apparently mpeg4 is a set of rules that video formats have to comply with & not an actuall video format so when you see mpeg4 player it includes .3gp .mp4 etc..At the moment ,besides some smartphones,240 x320 pixel 266,144 colours is the best screen around on phones,except the panasonics with 16 million colours...

can't wait to have this phone in Malaysia. just read the review, in summary w900 has NetFront browser,larger screen,memory slot and 3G compare to the previous walkman phone (i.e. w800, w550 & w600).
I think this phone could easily cost MYR2500 - 3000. Please make it available before christmas/ new year. I want one... to really show off to my colleagues.. haha

I had this handset a week ago. Its the first Sony I have had, and it is absolutely brill.
The only thing I can fault it on is that the PC Suite is not as good as Nokia's, having said that I would recommend this phone as a pleasure to use in every department.

Well said jay, i think the size is fine, at the end of the day its an amazing phone who cares about the size. If you dont like the size of the phone dont buy it, its simple really.

To all the people (or the same person) who keep complaining about this phones size; i truely believe that you have not even seen the phone let alone bought it! Its a super feautured handset-its a multi media handset that needs a big screen! I wouldnt have it any smaller as it would be impossible to use it effectively. Its so 'cool' too with the swivel screen. As for size, it doesnt feel that much in a pocket at all, you dont know what you are talking about. If you a re a girl then id recommend you put it in your handbag (as most girls do anyway!). If you are a boy then off course this can fit in your pocket unless your super slim yourself, in which case i recommend you go to the gym!

are there any mac users out there who have successfully installed the start up cd in osx? i am having trouble you see...
slowly coming round to living with a white phone. still prefer black. doesn't really matter at the end of the day coz the phone is PACKED with goodies. loving it.

Prob da reason y vodafone decided to sell the w900 white was due to da ipod 'trend' tht we see now. E.g. motorola ROKR, PSP headfones, etc. I guess it looks gr8. bt so does da black. Itz very difficult 2 decide. Ive never been dis trivial about a fone. Da looks r simply 'stunning' no matter wat colour.

hi had this phone on the first day vodafone got it into there warehouse's returned the next day started to walk funny due to the size of the thing in my pocket(house brick)and thats before you even get a cover for it

to shah,, edge stands for enhanced data for gsm evolution or something like that and gives a faster data download but its not here where i am in uk...People often ask about it because if they cant get 3g""which is still quite a lot of the uk""it gives them a faster data speed..i dont know how much faster!! Anyway any better results from the battery as its nearly xmas & still choosing between sharp 903,,nokia n90 & this w900 and mainly interested in video but cant find anywhere frames per second of n90 & sharp 903 but this is full 30 fps..They are all quite big & on one site n90 just dropped to £395 sim free were as this is still £459 & carfone still havent released it sim free its only £379 by them.Why not wait? but have done that with so many phones and there still not out & these are & im a fone obsessive & want one of these,,Only 4 days left on most sites for xmas delivery.

to Swaminathan and all- there are 2 main forms of 3g.
the first is a completely new revised system. this includes many different systems including UMTS. this system is faster and more steady.
The second is an updated form of 2G technology. as time goes on it will be updated and become more sterdy and speedy(not that the others are going to be static). this group includes EDGE.
Each group has its benefits, so if you can just buy a phone that has both

hey guys i am very dissapointed.
here in South Africa our vodafone affiliate/associate/partner has really let fans of this phone down. they r vodacom and have released their phone portfolio for dec-feb. included are some new phones including the w550 which was released at the same time as the w900. but there is no w900. what is going on

i was actually wondering about syncing my mac itunes with the w900i, and since posting have come across a few bits of software. has anyone used any of these with their w900i:
itunemywalkman
itunesenabler
sailing clicker (actually just makes phone into a remote control)
k750igrabber (stops mac crashing after disconnecting phone)
i would be very interested to know how they work with a w900i.

Tim, if u have a powerbook with a built-in bluetooth, u can use it to sync with your cellphone, just let the computer find the device, and then you go to Browse Device.

Sony Ericsson I guess wakes up to changes a wee bit slowly. Looking at W900 or W900i it is sad to know that why Sony Ericsson has reservations about adding EDGE to its feature rich high end phones ?

the W900 is a very Phat and fat phone... nothing to say about it... only that it's too big for the pocket... about the specs... no comment

I just recently got the w900 from saberpoint.com and I must say its AWESOME! I had the sony ericsson k750 before this and there are some pro's and cons to each. The k750 definitely has a better form factor but not alot of internal memory. earpeice volume on w900 is much better than k750. w900 also comes with better earphones and walkman software which is great for music. The cameras are pretty much the same but the k750 I like better to take pictures with. The screen on the w900 is brilliant, much larger than k750 and brighter. The price was a bit steep but worth it

yo guys, i dont know which 1 to choose from, the SE w900i or the samsung i300, i mean they're both gr8 fones, with a lot of features bt i dont no which 1 2 gt, striker or AMH do u fink u could list the pros or cons of both fones and cn u tell me if on the samsung cn u listen 2 music and do summut else at the same tym and is it very very loud lyk the SE w900i, is da microdrive or internal memory any gdgd, does it have radio function and otha stuff lyk dat, if u cud list some features on both fones adat wud b gr8
