I bought this Brandnew SE w9001 in Jan2006 for $580.00 here in Jeddah KSA.. I can say its one tough phone. I accidentally dropped this so many times (on carpet, wood, concrete, asphalt, etc.) on the floor... and it just continue working. Aside the cool Walkman sound and the massive memory. (Mine has 2GB external) It also takes decent pictures and video. So Im always prepared to capture those memorable moments. Im just wondering why SE stopped making this model in the market? well, probably SE was afraid that if most people own the W900i, there would be no reason for people to buy a new phone :-) Why should I buy a new phone when Im totally satisfied with the W900i. i am hunting for this fone a year ago but i cant find it here in philippines .. ive seen second handed but its ugly .. so i decide to get p990i .. i will buy it if i see a brand
new one ..

Yes. It is true that this cell phone is out of production line almost a year ago. Moreover, this kind of cellphone is very hard to find, rocketing it's price almost equivalent to its original price.

No, it's not touch screen. But it has navigation key.

It's up to yours.
W960i got 8 Gb, no external memory slot, no navigation key, and a large touch screen. But this touch screen is probably the biggest drawback coz you can accidentally touch it when you accidentally turn this feature on.
W900i got 470 Mb of internal memory with an external slot that supports to up to 8 Gb of memory (provided this memory is on the market now), giving you 8.47 Gb. Bigger than W960i. And this cell phone has an NVidia graphic chip, no wonder why it has a crisp display n superior video capability in its class.

I've been using this phone for 18 Months till now, and day by day I just fall in love with it more ... though I'm thinking to buy a smart phone, but its the best deal that music lovers can have

i hav been used so many fones such as n80,n70,w810i,w850i,w800i and w900i.... well this is d 2nd times i use this fone coz.... this fone really is a fun fone 2 me when i bored... coz of its swingswing....

I got this cell phone two months ago by sheer luck (May 5th) and i'm still amazed by this phone.
Despite the bulky body, it's tough. Very tough and very well designed indeed. I love all the features it has. And when every cell phone maker makes loud of their mp3 player capability, this phone humiliates them with superior mp4 video playback and crisp display. I've got 380 Mb in my external memory dedicated to video files and only a mere 72 Mb for mp3 files.
Besides, whenever i pull it from my pocket, nobody can resist to look at it.
Whenever you see this phone, just grab it. It's worth the money and it's simply the best of the best SE W series. Never mind the new W910i and W960i, they're no match for this rare and amazing cell phone.

hello pple of se product,i love to u men.well abt se w900i,well i dont have much to say abt it but all i knw is the fone is one of the best fone se has ever done.but how i wish the white se has radio and i wish it has edge and wlan and also 3.0 megal pixel.i luv the fone and its very cool to use and i prefare it than any nokia fone for now...so abt se w950,well there's a mistake in makin dat fone,1st its nt good to type mssge and also stressful to use and again i wish se shld be constructing fones like nokia,etc e90.nevertheless if i have the chance to signe contract with se i'll do cos se is my best product no other.thanx and sonyericsson 4 life men,keep using se is the best to me but i dont knw abt u guys.

the phone's built-in speaker aint designed for music playing is it,the sound gets choked up easily,even at low volume with normal equaliser settings.it can't wail properly.
unlike the other music phone where music playback sound quality is decent via the speaker.

yo jason, if u mean updating the firmware using the sony ericson service pack, then yes, ur data is likely to be deleted, but all the bugs that u may hav come across will most likely be corrected. :)

Hey guys concerning the menus and flash etc.. is W850i better than W900i?? And i've heard that the menus speed is slow in W900i is it true????? Other than that no doubt that W90i is the best,, but i dont knw for the flash etc??
