what's funny, michel, is that you persist to entertain so-called subjective opinions with your "objectivity". don't frustrate yourself because winning the argument won't necessarily change a person's mind. i personally like both nokia and sony ericsson and so know that the personal user-experience of each one is what builds the loyalty.

I want a slim sturdy phone with a 5 megapixel auto focus camera, I want to listen to music with my a2dp headset via the phone, I can't use a Samsung... (langauge issues but I also not fond of the interface) So... Nokia? Well no, their phones are too big for me, HTC Diamond? Well only the P3702 version that sold exclusively in taiwan the P3700 version has a bad built quality.
So what's left? LG KF755 or SE W902.
I think the W902 is nicer to use.

Revenant, 27 Jul 2008It's a bad interface because they haven't changed it in fou... moreYou're absolutely right. By the way, I'm not stating that it's a "bad" interface per se, just that I think it's quite boring. But that's personal opinion.
Yes, I do come over as arrogant, but there's a very good reason for that: I feel it can spice up a discussion. The people who can see through that, like you, still counter my arguments with valid replies, and I enjoy reading them. I have become aware of forums being more and more unrelated to the subject, with personal teardowns and stupid questions; therefore I decided to see what my initial comment would do in this forum.
I commend you for being one of few people who actually tells me what he thinks without constantly claiming that SE is fabulous, but not giving any feedback on that statement.
One thing, though: yes, I do know how this phone works, and how it is. All seperate series of phones (Nokia Nseries, Nokia S40, every Samsung, all SE's on the Walkman platform, etc. etc.) pretty much work the same, with some minor differences. If you can use a N95, you can use a N78; if you can use a samsung F400, you can use a Samsung D900.
This phone is not going to have any revolutionary tech in it, so I can conclude that it will work pretty much the same as a W910i.
SE is not my thing, and I'm entitled to that opinion as much as you are entitled to yours, and I respect that. As for the comment on the English language, I'm a true language freak, and the rape that the language is going through annoys the hell out of me. Personal tic, can't help it. I agree it was a bit too confrontational though.
Thanks for your solid reply.

Michel, 27 Jul 2008Thank you Dani, for giving some points that one can use. I ... moreIt's a bad interface because they haven't changed it in four years? That statement seems to contradict itself. They haven't changed it because there's no need to. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Change for the sake of change can only be a bad thing.
As for SE having devout followers - I can think of one reason only. Everyone I know who has used an SE has been exceptionally happy with it. And most of them switched from other brands. SE offer reliability, ease of use and great functionality. Most of the higher end SE's do almost everything. Depending on the series it'll perform brilliantly in one particular area, and acceptably, but not astoundingly, in the other areas - example being the walkman phones; great music experience, decent but not wonderful cameras. The reason SE have such devout fans is that they've earned them. Perhaps other brands don't provide such satisfaction. From personal experience I know that my nokias were too unreliable and I found the menu layouts of Samsungs and motorolas too clunky, but that's a personal choice.
Direwolf stated that he wasn't gonna put down the iPhone coz he's not used it and that likewise, you should do the same with SE. And fair enough, people like you, me and Direwolf know a bit about phones, but there are plenty of people out there who don't - these are the people Direwolf was referring to when talking about people coming here to learn.
You do make a lot of intelligent points but there's something else you bring to these forums in abundance - arrogance, nobody likes it. Your comment about the English language in particular indicates your overdeveloped sense of your own importance...

Michel, 27 Jul 2008Thank you Dani, for giving some points that one can use. I ... moreSure there are people that ask questions that the answers are right in front of them. Also if you read my post I said that I have used other phones, Samson, Motorola, Nokia and did not like them for several reasons. So no, your are wrong, I am not 'just a fanboy'. I do have my reasons. Just as you have said, the phone is not out yet, so what makes you am expert on it? Besides all you have shown me is that because that you have 3 other phones you think you are an expert or something. If you think you are doing somebody a favor, why not post on the threads about your phones, and help someone there that might need it? I have read the post from people that have used the K790, and did not get the phone because of the joystick. That was a help to me, not what people think they know about the phone. Evey company has there 'bad' phones. Everybody has there like sand dislikes about the phone they use. You like yours, I like Sony, get over it. Like I said, untill you use the phone, your posts is no better than anyones elses here.

To Michael,
To be fair a lot of your points are valid but I've always found SE phones to be hardy and reliable with good features so I always get SEs. Last time I got a Nokia it kept losing all the settings, which I have heard other people mention too. No matter what you think I believe SE make good reliable phones

Dani , 27 Jul 2008Il do some Convincing for you to get an SE
The Truth abo... moreThank you Dani, for giving some points that one can use. I don't agree on the interface bit, 'cause they've been using it for four years which to me makes it quite boring.
To the other guys: you wonder why I'm posting this? Because SE, like Apple, is the only brand in mobile technology to have devout followers. I think that is quite interesting; therefore I started this little experiment. I want to know WHY you guys love SE so much. To anonymous: how is what I said "bragging"? All I said was that I like mobile phones, and that I'm satisfied with all three of them. I don't WANT one phone that could replace them all; read my posts a bit more carefully.
To Direwolf: your comment exactly proves my point that most of you are fanboys just for the sake of being fanboys. I work in the telecom sector in the Netherlands, so I pretty much handle every new phone that comes out. You say that if I was happy with my phones, I wouldn't be posting here: as emanates from my posts, I just want to concretely know why you like SE so much.
"wasting space here when others are trying to learn about this phone"? What's to learn? It's a C902 with a walkman- logo on it, and you know it. Constructively tell me what's so fabulous about this phone!
By the way, at least when I post something, I add some intelligence to this web page.
Most other posts consist of "where can I get it?" while it's obviously not out yet; "does it have an accelerometer?" while it says that bright and clear on the specs page, and more ignorant questions that are answered if the people would just read the specifications. At least I'm sparking an interesting debate....

It's hilarious. Every response to my last post, that is. I tell you that SE isn't innovative and brings no substance to the market, and I strengthen those statements with objective arguments, not opinions. And the rebuttals consist of (and I paraphrase): "SE IS innovative!" "SE DOES bring substance!"
Come on people, elaborate! Tell me why this bland piece of uninspired, outdated plastic is so incredible! You can do better than this!
And to the guy that said that I only have three phones because I've never had a SE, I have to disagree; I have three phones because I LIKE PHONES. I love my N95 for its open OS and great camera, I love my iPhone 3G for the browser and music, and my LG Secret is a fun gimmick.
Convince me, SE fanboys, to get a SE!
Michel
PS. I'm sorry if you can't understand my English, 'cause I seem to be one of the only people on this website who has fully (or even remotely) mastered this near- universal language. Again, my sincerest apologies.
