I brought this phone from SE shop for only US$350!
Those guys at Smape.com sound like they are Nokia fans! Better wait for review from "gsmarena"(these guys are more trustworthy!).
Btw, Smape.com's information is misleading!!!.....they were just estimating the price of the W910i & N81, at US$500 & $350 respectively!
They were also testing pre-production phones only! Everything in Russia is a guess....even much worse than China!!!

After reading some comments i think this phone is for music fans only not for camera lovers.This days 2mp sucks man. They should bring 3.2 at least.

If you can wait a couple months for the W960 then go for that. They said that the W950 could have been the IPhone killer but if the W960 has 8GB of memory, a 3 mp camera, light, auto rotate, touch screen etc. then it would be a serious contender for a top of the line smart phone (with touch screen) it is smaller than the Apple and does not tie you in to any network for an EIGHTEEN month contract. Gosh you could have two kids in that time!
Take it with you whenever wherever and it has a google maps positioning feature..

I try out the phone yesterday at singtel shop. The camera image is good. Sound is good. Im using SE w810 now when i try W910 yesterday i find it not used to the button. They dun have the back button will only need to click on the right navigation button for back. Then i think the viewing of picture in file manage they have change to more advance will need to check on the manual first on how to use it. Overall i simply love tat phone.

Sony Ericsson W910i, upon a second glance at the price label, is quite a disputable offering, which will be fully suitable only for the brand’s most devoted fans.

Media Functionality
This phone comes with a 1GB m2 (tiny) memory stick. I have to stress how small the memory stick is; it's a 5mm square and just over 1mm thick but holds 1GB. It sells for around 10 quid in the shops but you can pick up a 4GB version for as litte as 45 quid (GBP) online. If you really want to load serious amounts of music on to your phone for the day / week then this is certainly an option. My phone typically charges when I hook it up to my pc so I get a charge and build a playlist for the week all at the same time. After getting my first sony walkman phone (W800) to play music I really can't see why ANYONE would want an ipod (I had one but the iPod Hard Drive failed last year after two years). For me, an all in one device wins hands down any day. The software automatically picks up album artwork for your songs so you can see the album covers as you listen to your music or visualisations which are contained in a small box to the top left of the screen. Sony's SenseMe software will categorise your phone tracks based on combinations of slow / fast and sad / happy that slow & sad, slow & happy, fast & sad or fast & happy so you can just get it to play what you feel like listening to.
The interface is clever and intuitive with a clear layout for photos, music and video. The phone also has technology that is built in to the Wii's nun chuckas where you can rotate the phone and it will rotate the display or if you are so inclined, hold the 'W' button and wave the phone forward or backwards to change tracks and even shuffle by shaking the phone! Though this is initially a gimmick, I would like to see how the phone's game developers utilise this feature... It would be quite difficult shaking the phone and looking at the game on the screem unless they somehow link it to the sound so you can pluck a guitar or play the drums by waving the phone around. How they would do this without someone looking like a nut job in a public place though will certainly be much more testing!
The playback frame rate is too slow (around 15 fps) and there is visible pixellation (bits on the screen) though I reckon there was a trade off here for battery life / size of the phone. Again this phone has a camera on the screen side which you cannot use to take photos but can use to take video. Ideal if you want to use the phone as a mirror(??). I reckon they should have scrapped the camera since there is no flash or light which were one of the best features on these phones, the super bright light! I am sure if you want to use this phone as a video phone, it is useful. Personally, I'd rather use a decent camera to take photos and videos rather than my phone. I was quite keen on photos and videos on the phone when I had a bluetooth laptop but now not as much. Photos are not great unless there is excellent lighting and really can only be taken of objects (not very flattering on people), cannot be used in clubs, bars (basically anywhere you are going out at night and having fun and want to take photos) rather than during the day which can be useful if you are taking the tourist route... A proper camera is highly advised for those memorable moments.
TV Series, and Films I haven't had a chance yet to convert 300 or a few episodes of 24 to the phone's format and then watching it on the train but will do so soon. Looking forward to the 'rotate' feature.
The music is awesome, Sony have really outdone themselves with the software that comes with these walkman phones which basically (with some pointing in the right direction) find all your music and then transfers the songs to your phone for you. With the additional benefit of music & video dj and bluetooth there are many possibilities.. The transfer rate while using the cable is fast and you can send across 400mb in about 10 mins. Bluetooth I would say a comparable speed.
No infra red on this phone as the manufacturers move towards bluetooth. The battery life is reasonable and goes for about three days with a typical daily use of 2 hours of music, an hour of talk time and 1 hour of games.
3G compatibility means you can visit google, youtube, facebook, mobile tv etc and it has a positioning device so you know where you are in relation to googlemaps any time your phone is on the network.
The call register is poor and only holds the last call you made to a person rather than all the calls you made to that person in the past say week or so. Messages are standard, not bad and I still am waiting someone to put a 'trash' folder in to the messages so you can always retrieve the message that you 'deleted' for whatever reason (anger, error or just plain carelessness).
Pros & Cons
I haven't mentioned features on this phone that were standard on previous sony walkman phones because I know that soon as you get one of these phones you don't even look at another brand again and though the people who buy a walkman phone should recommend them to all their friends I know that hard core nokia or iPod fans will not be swayed easily since they are looking for different things from their phones / music devices.
Pros - Good things about this phone are it's size; conveniently compact and packed with features. Memory (expandable to 1000 songs - two a a half days of continuous! playback with a 4GB memory stick), auto rotate function, and the delicious screen. The standard things that Sony now provides on their phones like the walkman, video playback are as ever, one of the best in the industry. The phone has five alarms which are extremely handy, each one customisable to radio or a tune of your choice from what you've put on the phone.
Internet browsing is handy if you have restrictions on internet access and desperately need to contact / connect with someone. The google maps positioning feature was sort of creepy at first but is good if you are using something like Cityware on Facebook which maps out your social network and physical location over the course of the day, or even if you are just really badly lost and don't have a clue where you are, key for drivers in a new city.
Cons - The way the phone slides open could be more like the slow motion on the 8910 which had one of the best 'slides' ever. This phone has a cheap click to it when it opens up. The main menu has this irritating vibration when you chose menu options which is impossible to disconnect from the vibrate when ringing on silent mode. I don't see why they have this since it is not like your phone will unlock itself, and start pressing buttons without you knowing and then telling you by a vibration The menu icons could 'bubble' up as you highlight them. The camera as mentioned is only good for well light environments. A touch screen and associated software would have been excellent.
All in all, go for this phone if you want a compact music and video device that lets you browse the web, play games, watch tv (if you get decent 3G reception..) oh yes, and lets you make calls as well.

The review: I am not sure if anyone has put a review up for this phone yet but I did find this site highly useful when researching which phone to buy after losing my large (but awesome!) W950i.
So to break this review down a bit I'll chose the following headings:

Physical Features
I lost my W950i because generally I found it difficult to fit in my pockets when sitting down so would keep it on the table. We went to a bar and I lost it somehow and it was never recovered... So the aim of going for another phone was that it had to be tiny like the Nokia 8210 which I really liked on account of its size. Very good when you're going out and being a guy I only have what I can carry in my pockets, wallet, keys, phone full stop.
Now the phone's dimensions don't appear much smaller than the W950 on paper but this phone is tiny! I've only had it for a week and still have to check to see if it is my pockets because you can hardly feel it. The screen is large and takes up the front of the phone. The phone also does slide open from 10cm in length to around 13cm when fully extended.
The front is basically the screen with 13 buttons (not including keypad) on the front and five on the sides (including vol and power). Such a variety of options mean you don't have to slide it open if you're just calling someone (who's in your phonebook) or running media (camera, video music etc.) or games.
There is no cover for the lens on the back as with most camera phones nowadays and the back has this rubbery surface which is quite cool. Charging / Data port is exposed which is kind of ugly and they should have set it into the phone and placed a cover over it.
The sides are metallic so feel cool when you pick it up and the combination of plastic / glass on the front, metal on the sides and rubber on the back serve to provide a variety of textures.
Screen Display
The screen is HIGHLY prone to finger prints and needs regular wiping to enjoy the display. Sony's cool display photos and screen savers really bring out the best in making this look like a phone your friends will envy. I miss the touch screen on my old phone and I would have rather they put a touch screen on this phone than the cameras (one in the usual place and the other for video calls).
The screen has a basic interface and though the W950 is better in showing you your tasks, calendar, email up front this phone keeps things simple. You only bring up an option if you need it. There are two short cut keys on the top of the phone that are not programmable and preset (strangely) to video playback and the photo gallery. The display quality for photo / pictures and album artwork is awesome! I think that maybe it is because this is a smaller screen than my old phone, everything has the most amazing colors and posseses a warm feel. I am looking forward to watching video when I have the time to convert video files from my pc to the phone's format.
