Hi, I'm from the Philippines. I bought a phone like this about three months ago and its the best phone I ever used. My last phone was a W810i. I love the Walkman phones. I know the W850 doesn't have a camera. I have a digital camera anyway.
I was able to download some third party programs like chess. I can create and edit MS Word, MS Excel and MS Powerpoint files. I'm telling you, this phone is simply incredible.
I dropped the phone twice already, I'm clumsy like I guess. Still no problems at all.
The Walkman is awesome. If your mp3 files has lyrics embedded on them you can view it with the phone. If your mp3 files has a picture of the album cover embedded on it the album cover is displayed when the file is being played. Lots of presets for the equalizer. You can assign four different "moods" for the songs.
I use it in my car. If your car stereo has a AUX-in then you can plug the phone in directly use the Walkman to play your mp3's
I have over 500 mp3 files thus far and I still have more than 2gig of space.
The phone itself can play mpeg videos. I downloaded a 3rd party video player and now I can play pretty much any video file type.
Once you get used to the virtual keyboard texting is a breeze.
I was able to download a themes creator and I pretty much create the themes I myself made. The themes creator is installed in a PC and the themes is creator with a computer and not with the phone. You can just use the USB cable to place the theme to your phone.

just bought 1 last week,awesome after you update the software from se website.
make te speaker phone louder,
better themes&icon feature,
faster&more compact,
auto set up wap internet,mms,sms,etc to your network provider,
touchscreen close to iphone[you can use finger]..impressive,
no camera..get white sony w80 digital camera, as mobile phone camer not that great

Anyone knows if we can upgrade walkman player from 2.0 of W950i to 3.0 of W960i. After i saw some review of w960 on Youtube, i really like w960 interface but i'm sure w960 is going to be very expensive. Is there any possible way to have w950's interface as w960?

Hi everybody m not a phone lover but i like this phone i wanna buy it , pls anybody that's using it or used it tell me what's the problems with that phone coz i hears some people say oh it's really bad phone and others say it's a great phone so what's the face ? pls answer

The w950 is a wicked phone. The only bad thing is no camera, but it makes up for it with 4G! storage for music. It's more of an mp3 player that makes calls than a wanna be smartphone. Its also crazy cheap.

in singapore everyshop out of stock but i've never seen anybody have this phone , maybe this phone has many problems so the company collect back

Just for all you people that have their heads burried under the sand, the people in ANY defence force cannot have a phone with a camera on site for security reasons, also some car manufacturers, so good on sony for catering for ALL needs

can you view youtube videos using this phone? like use 3g to browse to youtube.com and use it like a regular browser? (except the small screen of course)
