Dan my man what happened to you? If I'm not mistaken you were the one saying that this phone is so good and blah blah (not forgetting Tarantula). But if you are to listen to my opinion i simply say that a smartphone is a smart phone indeed. You simply get bored with a non OS phone after the first few weeks(in this case the w850). So I say go with your first love man.

Please stop moaning about the camera not being on this phone. SE have got it spot on unlike Nokia. They are giving you options. The W phones are for people who want a Phome/MP3 and if you want a Camera buy a CyberShot phone like the K800, and there is 3G on it for faster downloads 3G is not just a camera option. There is loads more to it like Mobile TV ect... So if you must have an all singing all dancing brick then go get a nokia N phone. I think this is a great phone for music lovers and the Cybershot phones are great for Pictures

Hope this one will be released soon, it´s quite interesting indeed...
But all in all, it´s a rather low-end Symbian with great internal memory.
For me, it´s pros get beaten by it´s cons, and the opposite.
Symbian+good display--> Good
No, camera or other advanced features--> Bad

The W950 has 4Gb of flash memory, it isnt a hard disk.
Samsung release a laptop with 30Gb of memory in a "hard disk" but it isnt a hard disk, is a flash memory SSD (solid state disk, based in flash memory). Samsung view in this type of memory a better option than a hard disk for mobile solutions. ¿Why?
Because low weight compared to a hard disk (1,8" Standard HD weights about 50 grams, the SSD weights 20-30 grams), better batery life, tree times more faster than a hard disk in read mode, while in write is 150% more faster than a hard drive.
For these facts, windows XP will take 25-50% less time to be launched and the computer operation will be soundless.
This laptop demonstrate the advantages of flash memory usage over the HD implementation in mobile solutions, and cell phones isnt the exception.

To those who are grumbling about no camera for this phone...so what if this phone has no camera?! If you want a camera then buy a dedicated one, and it doesn't cost that much. It sure takes pictures better than any mobile.
Anyway...I think this is a good mobile, but because of its 4GB hardisk, I think its price is still going to be high (maybe having no camera will lower its price a bit?).
Just a little suggestion: try not to be rude by insulting others.Everyone has the right to express his/her own opinion.If someone says something incorrect, then correct him/her in a civilised manner.

wtf do they think they are doing.
they make a cool looking "Mystic Purple" phone and they cant put a camera on it!!
this phone will flop for that reason alone. its a great looking phone but who are they going to aim it at. business types prefer nokias generally with no features. the rest of the world want every last gadget thats going and taking away what has become a standard in phone technology is really not a bright idea.
thats my two cents anyway

today sony ericsson anounced that this phone would be postponed for some time now.they will start working on this phone in january due to some technical problem.
i read it in ericsson magazine of u.s.a.
for time being they will start working on w850i
