Don't worry, this phone is great, I'm have this beauty with me around month now, screen is great, you don't want stylus except for messaging. I don't think you are going to own this for ten to fifteen years. This OS is stable, it doesn't need updates because it is not having any bugs in it. don't worry, be positive, this phone have great features, so buy this babe, I'm recommending it, Good luck

smallyellow, 17 Feb 2009thank you..but are u sure it is going to stop from producin... moreThe OS of this phone which is UIQ is officially dead by Sony Ericsson, that means now SE will stop making any softwares for this phone, and there won't be any update softwares for the UIQ handsets!! Now, if the OS is only dead, then it is obvious that they would stop producing these phones!! I own this phone, and I personally recommend anyone not to buy this phone unless you are a huge Sony Ericsson fan!!

Its a pretty cool phone, but the screen is horrible.
Gets stuck after about 4 months and then phones random all the time...
It would be good if the 2 buttons that are based in the bottom of the screen (touch buttons) where real buttons.
Also, some of the functions are intuitive to sony ericsson users... I have been a sony Ericsson user for years and felt like this was designed by someone else.
Simple things like being able to clear a message... it was just different. I now have a w890 and right back to good'o'l sony ericsson normality.

One of the worst.
Touchscreen has got stuck on a certain spot after only 8 months. Now it's dialing random numbers in my phonebook. I even hated it before that. It's super sluggish and slow, has horrible interfaces, too big for my pocket. Can't be used in daylight as the touchscreen gets "greyed out"... etc. Happy to hear its the last in that series/OS. Considering it was really expensive i rate it 2/10.

I just bought one and it looks to be just fine. The LCD quality is poor but the speaker is good. The volume keys are extremely annoying but not as bad as slow response which is very disappointing. The price of this handset is cheap enough to provoke anyone. Overall I give 7/10.

if the screen in the 5800 has any thing wrong, you can throw it in the garbich.
why don't you check out the sonny ericsson w902i!?

Hey ppl,
I've got a w960, and when I try to download applications/ software/ games off the net (eg mobiles 24, zedge, etc) that are in "jar" or "sis" files my phone can't do anything with them...But if I download using wap they seem to be fine (sometimes) Can someone plz email me natmcneill@gmail.com with some advice? kai, 14 Feb 2009i have a problem. i can connect to a wlan but when i starte... moreheyy,
even i get tht same problem....its probably coz this phone does not support "802.11g" WiFi networks,, and the router to which ur connecting may not support "802.11b" networks!! Try connecting to a different router, thn it would work!! But I guess there is a way to make it work, by changing some settings!!
I guess ur using a Siemens router!!

Im still going to buy the W960i, I love it sooo much.
