U will have to install the GPS software into the phone then pair it with the GPS receiver. Your phone will be use as the diaplay and the GPS device will link to the sattelite. For me, i'm using Garmin Mobile XT for symbian to install it into my W960 then pair it with Garmin GPS 10x GPS revceiver. For further info u can go to garmin websites. Hope this will help u

ar u sure 5800 is cheaper than w960?...
because in my country w960 is around Rm900 while 5800 is around rm1300...

Q.2 theres a firmware update for this pone tht u can find on sony ericsson's official site!!

u can surely use the phone's memory till 8GB for storing music, videos or watever u like!!
i wz saying tht if u install many applications (those apps do not much memory, probably 50-1000 KB), it would make ur phone slow nd sumtimes hang!!
nd frankly speaking coz im using this phone since 8 months, i would not recomend anyone to buy this phone and at tht same time i would not stop also!!
if u want a good smartphone for a reasonable price, i would recommend u nokia phones like N82, N95 or 5800!!
im not a nokia fanboy type but im saying this coz i owned N82 for a couple of weeks and frankly tht phone wz very good, better thn W960i in many areas but not all!! If u want a touchscreen phone, u rather go for 5800 as its out, nd it has all the features tht W960i has nd i think its aso cheaper!! but if ure not interested in nokia phones, or ur more into sony ericsson, then its alrite to buy this phone!!
W960i is also a very good phone (ITS NOT SLOW - unless u install MANY apps as i told, like 10-12 apps r fine), just tht since UIQ is officially dead and there are other competitive phones out, i would recommend the other phones!!

Ans: Its Better to switch off your phone atleast 10 hours in a weeeks time & do not overload ur phone more than 4 GB Mainly do not load softwares or games.
2]how do i get the latest firmware..
Ans: There is no latest frimware for this phone.
3]can i download icons or animated themes?
Ans: you can download the icons by typing mobile icons in google & download whicever icon u like.
There is no animated theme nor wallpaper for this phone.

Its a very good software, u can also download the maps and view it offline,, there's a software called "Google Maps" also, but i dont think u would get that on the google site, and ya its a software, not a site!!

the phone is awesome. It is a bit slow sometimes..especially when im downloading emails and trying to search in the menu at the same time. Only major problem is when recieving files via bluetooth, you have to maunually save it too the 8GB memory. Otherwise the best phone that i have used so far.

Just bought this phone yesterday.. Basically everything is nice..just wanting to know which google map should i download?I went to the site m.google.com/maps and downloaded it on my phone and installed it..but then i found out it was impossible to scroll across left or right..is there any google map else?or any comment on how to overcome it?
