I just got this phone and its great. Just one problem tho. Does anyone know how to delete the protected files? I try to delete some of the preloaded songs, but when i try to it says cannot delete protected files.

its about 20k to 23k here in the phil, im from naga city and its 22k but sale price @20k
in manila its around 22k to 24k in the malls, i also checked the prices there last december.
but i was not able to check in SE Lounge @ Cyberzone megamall

i just bought this phone, & to me, its amazing..
for the reviews regarding the camera,well..its a Walkman series,not a Cybershot..what were you expecting??it works fine with me..
plus,about the scratchehs & all,if u bought an original phone,they should give u a plastic cover or something,to protect from those scratches..

Batery... morethats one of the funniest comments that Ive ever read!!! u r comparing luna with this phone? in all aspects this phone outperfom luna except in design(thats a matter of taste) and battrey life(considering the screen and th usage) and that phone is two times more expensive than w980, that comparison was ridiculous! your opinion about screen is not true at all I have this phone for 6months without even a single scratch! if u call this plastci cheap plastic u sure dont know anything about plastic let alone the cellphone! the camera of w980 even outperform the one is built in on 5800 dont go far away just take a look at the photos of w715 in latest review of this site(w980 has got very same camera module) the only problem is the lackin of AF and macro mode which thats not a big deal for me but the camera is one of the finest camera of SE but again without AF and Macro mode!!
please for god sake if u dont know anythin about cellphone dont post here,

This is my first SE,and it's worst phone ever,why??
Batery last max 2 days only talking,display when compared to my old nokia 8600 Luna is joke.
Menu and when u write messages is so slow....
Internal display is so easy to scratch,outside plastic materials and display not to mention....
Only good thing is 8GB memory and design(cheap plastic).
Ooh yeah i forgot to tell about camera,my old phone with 2.0 mega is 2x times better.
Dont buy this phone,thrust me

Hi guys - I am thinking of buying this phone. Does the phone scratch very easily? I am put off by the fact that it catches fingerprints very easily. Does it look a mess? I guess that outdoors in the light it looks very bad with smudges, but do these wipe away easily? Thanks!

Lately I have a problem with my W980 phone.
I try to connect the phone to my laptop via USB cable but something was wrong and it didnt work. It show some message about error and told to connect to internet. I coulnd't have my laptop connected to internet since phone seems not able to connect to internet. and now I still can't connect phone to laptop how to solve it? plz help :((

My phone is 3 days old and I have not turned back. Despite having about 5 handsets in 10 years, this has got to be the most easiest to operate - it is functional, easy to navigate and not over the top. I'm a technical and functional nut & this is just perfect. Despite all the negative feedback, I really dont know what people look for these days in cell phones but this handset is controllable and definitely won't control me.

Yorkshire-Guy, 06 Jan 2009Bought W980 to replace my W300. Phone is good but the batte... moreto save battery life: set mobile network to GSM only (this is the most important), use simple and small size themes ( do not use flash themes), do not take picture often, reduce LCD brightness.

This is a wonderful phone. all the doubts i had about about it disappeared when i bought it, except for one. my fm transmitter doesnt work due to legal constraints although it is allowed in my country. i searched everywhere, i contacted SE they said i should update my phone's software, did it, didnt work. i even read that its a simple setting that i have to change, and i couldnt find it :(
does anyone know how i could do it? it's doable. i know it is ...

Amazing phone! i love it!
i was quite bummed though that the fm transmitter doesnt work due to legal constraints eventhough it is allowed in my country. anyway, i've spent the last 2 days surfing the net trying to find any helpful information but in vain. i read about updating my phone's software, did that, doesnt work. i contacted SE, no helpful info, i even read that it was a simple setting i had to change (which made me go crazy cos i couldnt find it). any help from you guys?
