sony ericsson sell is largly depends upon w series.But now a days other company can also give same audio quality with many feature loaded.Such as Nokia and Samsung.That's the main reason of sony's downfall.

they change the card slot up to 8GB? b4 it was 16GB? what about that? tsk tsk tsk tsk

there is an erraneous entry in the specs sheet. W995 can use a 16gb m2 card. heck, I'm using it.

Just bought the phone. Here is what I've noticed:
The kickstand is not wobbly but works properly. It is intended to become slightly stiff at *90 degrees so it may be used as a kickstand.
I did not notice any stickers peeling off on my phone. Perhaps I have a newer model but it looks exactly like the pictures online. There is nothing to peel off from the phone, actually. I don't know what stickers people are talking about. The 8.1 logo - next to the camera - is ingrained into the surface of the casing. It cannot peel off. Again, perhaps I have a newer model but it looks just like any other w995 online.
The volume controls on the side are quite small and difficult to use. They are two very small buttons that require a lot of effort to press. This is my primary quarrel with the phone.
Mine came with a 8gb SONY m2 card, not a SANDISK.
The mechanism to open the back-cover of the phone is very tough to move and feels like it could break. Be gentle with it, although you have to push hard to move it.
The phone is smaller than I thought it would be. I think Sony should have made the w995 a little more big. It's slightly smaller than I would have liked.
The buttons below the screen are surprisingly well manufactured. The volume buttons are and keypad are mediocre.
The slider is flawless. Best I've seen. No wobble.
Screen is glass, I think. Very good screen quality.
The camera flash is bright and it can be used as a flashlight. Go to Organizer > Light
You can record your calls with this phone. During a call, go to options (left button). The call will be saved as a music file. So damn cool... !!!
The dedicated Walkman button is very easy to press... a little too easy and I've turned on the Walkman program accidentally many times while trying to turn the volume up instead.
The phone is extremely secured. It doesn't feel like parts are moving inside. Basically, it is a solid phone, like a brick. No moving parts, only the slider. It feels secure.
The best part of the phone is the button lights.
The worst part of the phone is the volume buttons on the side. The feel cheap, but perhaps my judgement is wrong. They are difficult to press and I wouldn't want them to malfunction on me. Just set the volume and leave them alone, lest they break.
Another bad feature is the movie player. No DivX, i think. I've heard that you have to convert the movie file into another format because the w995 cannot play just any format. I don't know if this is true, but I've heard it many times.
The navigation controls of the phone are great. Very quick and responsive. Make sure to set a "click" or "tone" sound to your buttons in Settings > Sounds & alerts > Key sound. It makes the phone more enjoyable to navigate through.
Camera is great. Don't expect much from a cellphone cam, though.
Sony Ericsson ringtones are no good. Most phones have crappy ringtones preinstalled in order to make you buy or go onto their website to download.
The speakers are orgasmic.
Overall, I'm very impressed and satisfied with the phone. I'd give it a 9/10

its a nice phone, i was the first one in America to get it, I had a prepaid order done. But I noticed that some stuff is peeling off. As in the one in the 8.1 miga pixel and on the sides it said m2 and something else, that also came off. Whats that mean?? is it fake :/ or did i rub it too much? lol

W995 better build quality, more of a complete fone, tho I have to say I miss the external touch walkman player of the W980 which was awesome.

Hey i really want to get this phone, but i have owned sony ericsson w580i and also the ones released after that, and i have found that the keypads are easily broken. i tend to drop my phone alot so i was wondering if i should get this phone, and if the keypads will easily crack as i text all day...

But there is one question I ... morew995a is made for the Americas (hence the "a").
You'd have to buy the regular w995 from Asia if you want Chinese language.
