Hi, I would like to connect to Google Talk via Instant Messaging in my W995. It doesn't work. Can you help me enter the correct settings please?
This is what I've entered:
Username: my gmail email
Password: my password
Server: talk.google.com
And my Internet connection IS working.
It says Login Failed, Network error.

Unlike N85, slaider is very good and reliable, so no worries on this issue. Just get it and see yourself. I would recommend W995 to everyone looking for reliable all in one device. If for some reason you don't need smartphone, W995 is right for you. To be honest I wasn't expecting something interesting, but have to say, that W995 impressed me. It is not best of the best device, but whatever it has, works just fine. May be even most of all I like solid and reliable construction.

Ok so ma friend jus bot diz phone and we were all excited dat it's n 8.1 MP phone but i gotta b honest n admit dat it's d worst 8.1 MP i know tho it does a great job in viewin videos. 4 me it's so bad i couldn't differentiate between a 3.2MP and it's 8.1MP

I downloaded the movies from the internet onthe play arena website..i then dragged and dropped into my handset via usb cable.
When i accessed the movie to view it, it askd me to register. i just pressed accept and then it took me to a wap site i pressed accept...
Ive only had to do that once

I don't really like the phone that much
I just had it.
The keypad gives me a cramp when I try to text with one hand, there are missing functions (How can i look back the length of each phonecall i've made in my calling-history: it is not possible. only the last call made).
And the thing that it is not possible to keylock the phone manually. you have to slide it open and close again or just wait till it locks automatically. (annoying if you are a rushed person like me ;) =p)
And as well the thing that if I slide it for closing, i sometimes hit a button and open a program. which means then my phone won't keylock. also annoying. I wish to be able to change it so it closes programmes when being slided to close.
The battery is quite good in my first experience (but I was used to the horrible battery of my LG-viewty. =p)

for your information.Last two days did a lot of test with the W995 GPS ( demo license for Wayfinder ) not the best software but the conclusion can be that it is working acceptable. The GPS fix is fast, maybe there exist a better software as WayFinder for Java phones, that I don't know. Let me know if someone knows about other running GPS software on W995

Dear All, I have a question, I want to know if any VOIP program is working on this phone allowing me to make Skype calls. I installed Skype light and mini Fring ( both Java applications ) and both are running fine but they just allow to chat and not to call. I really want a working program allowing me to use skype calls. If the software need to be bought, no problem, as long I can use my phone to make skype calls I am happy
