yes the headfones have to be plugged in to listen to radio..if you wish to use the rds part the fone uses the web browser to get info..IF the fone used the am or mw wavebands then the antennae would be built in so no need for an aerial..

getting this phone 4, 28 Mar 2009ermmm i want to know if this phone has a BUILT IN fm transm... moreAn fm transmitter sends out a signal..What your on about using aerial with headfones is a reciver and no you still need to use headfones with fm radio reciever..Some fones sport an fm transmitter to send your mp3 to any device with an fm reciver but its limited to 10 foot broadcast range..

ermmm i want to know if this phone has a BUILT IN fm transmitter?
its annoying using the headphones as a antenna.
this phone is all good but compared to the latest samsung, lg and nokia phones it seems a bit down
dnt mistake me, im a se fan and i love the design and all that but it still seems that se is having a hard time...
if the phones they released in japan came over to the rest of thw world im sure theyll stop losing money. like the newest se bravia phone.

T = low end but still with Style, t is for tick mark for everything you want in style

other sony ericsson phones has K or T then the unit. What does the letters mean anyway? C stands for Cybershot and W stands for walkman phone.. what does the other letters mean?

admit it. somehow this phone looks like n95. specially the silver one.
but of course this one looks better.
i prefer the black one.
i am planning to buy this phone.
but im not so sure about the wvga resolution video recording on this phone.
i have enjoyed the vga resolution so much on my n95.
i am happy to see the 3.5 jack on this phone.
sony is just starting to clean up their ears and slowly trying to listen to what we'all have to say.
so shout it out loud!.

Apart from being a 2.6'' and slider there are no similarities with the N95!
-N95 = 21mm thick,W995 = 15mm
-N95 = 5mp,W995 = 8mp
-N95 screen is oldschool,W995 screen is vivid with a mineral glass cover
-Black W995 is a sort of K800 in slider type(lovely)
-Battery N95 = 5 hours! W995 = ''supposed'' to last 3 days

Its a beautiful phone,but the designers must b die-hard nokia usaz,coz it looks exactly like an N95,that's y i wont buy it,
