Few things about Arc after using it for 3 weeks
1. Design:
Like :
Slim and Light. Does not feel like a 4.2 inch screen. Build quality is great.
Do Not Like:
Hard to press the camera key.
Only one Speaker and that too at the bottom.
2. Network reception and messaging:
Like: Loud and clear in call volume.
No call drops, never.
Do not Like: Messaging is a lil slow.
If you type quickly, screen fail to register some keystrokes.
3. Multimedia features:
Camera - Great camera, the best i have seen. Night shots work like a charm.
Audio - Have not tested the bundled earphones. My OEMs sound great, better than iPhone4.
Video - The stock player does nothing great. Installed Rock Player, can play mp4 files easily. copied bourne trilogy and insider, the screen is a treat to watch.
4. battery - Horrible. lasts not more than 15 hours and that too with just phone calls. last night drained to 73% from full charge with 3G, wifi off, screen off. Rooted and uninstalled some bloatwares. Hope to see some better results.
Overall:
Good phone. Will give it 7.5/10.
If a single core snapdragon is this much power hungry, dont know how the dual cores will be. Apart from the battery, no other problems with this. Great one to own. Thanks SE.

one word to start:
disappointed.
used to be a big fan.
you're too out of date.
the specs.
the design is perfect.
but the specs are stupid.

I'm disappointed.
miss the days of walkman and cybershot.

i have all the rights to comment coz i had the unit bought and tested. all i can say is, all features on the phone really work compared to my omnia 2. i can browse outdoor with full clarity and can snap outdoor pictures with out any fuzz. a really nice phone with the right price. grab for it guys.

I have it for about 3 weeks now.. the phone is good, the UI is great, the design is so stylish , the touch is so sensitive, best quality photo and video capture, .. but what i dont like from it is the battery life.. it will just take me not more done a day.. and its dead.. and then now it keeps restarting on its own.. hay (sigh) in these high end phones.. im always facing these problem.. disappointed again..

my gallery does not open/takes very much time to open most of the time. sometimes it opens widin a second. scanned all files. everything ok . only 400 files in gallery . thn why is it not opening. pls help.

Hi Its been like a week with this phone and I'm not disappointed . I was a die hard fan of Sony Ericsson till they stopped producing great phone like P910i .
Arc is a good phone . Only few problems for me which might be silly things for you people .The speaker is situated at the bottom of the phone so while in pouch its hard to hear the phone ring in noisy streets ( I always travel in a bike) the vibrator sensitivity is very very bad.All though the multimedia volume is very good the video playback volume is less may be coz of those particular file .Battery is ok I don't surf net and listen to music much but have calls for around 3.5 hours per day . Actually I took this phone when I was gone mad by the delay in SGS2.Over all I would give it a 7/10. Guys I'm not here for a fight ok.

When you copy your songs from your computer, if the file is not supported, a window will appear asking whether or not you want to convert the file type so that it can be played on the Arc.

Anyone knows if .flv files plays on the Arc natively? My X10 can't play it and 3rd party apps are choppy.

Hey guys it has been nearly 2 wks since I hav posted abt the xperia arc as I was studying for my mid-yr exams..The Exams had finished and yeah finally I hav the freedom to use my phone and post my xperience in this forum.Ok guys I it has been nearly 3wks aft my purchase of this arc,and I must say that although it i snot a dual-core,no videocall camera,This cons doesnt matter...It is just a wonderful phone for speed(doesnt lag at all),music,camera(Amazing),web browsing with adobe 10.1 flash(OMG),apps(awesome),screen with bravia engine(makes me keep on staring at it) and the youtube video quality.As said by a guy,mine plays all types of music files...I don really know y urs didnt support.Really an amazing phone..I got this phone in singtel contract for $88 without data plan in singapore..With Data plan it is 125.Really worth it.Bef this I had an x10 and I trade-in with this smatphone aft 1yr and 2 months of using x10..Really a great upgrade..But it will be nice if this phone has 5.1dts surround sound..Overall nice phone..

[deleted post]univercell does have xperia arc.costs u around 8k..better buy from flipkart.com or letsbuy.com a bit cheaper and will be delivered within 4 days..i got one and am loving it :)

sanjay, 29 Apr 2011i have seen this phone. its awesome. but lack of video cal... moreYes, it's really a sexy and powerful phone. My friend got his Xperia Arc yesterday and just awesome. Fast, responsive, screen is simply beautiful, camera and video are fantastic and truly enough design is I would say the most beautiful design I've ever seen. Since I am still enjoying my Xperia X10 and want to wait the OS upgrade to 2.3 (Gingerbread), perhaps I will wait SE's dual-core and hopefully with video-call camera. SE rocks!!!

I love my xperia brand...just waitin to see wats new from SE cuz am stil rockin my x10...just love the UI from sony..after d update from SE on x10 den ill knw...I love d arc a lot...
haters if u hate SE don't waste ur tym here
buy a samsung or htc..
my moni goes to SE forever
