nick, 22 Jan 2011except the arc, other than gingerbread 2.3, has nothing ove... moreit has one thing over SGS; it will work correctly. No defective GPS or app incompatibility or weird slowdowns and no need for 3rd party patches. SGS is for geeks who love to patch and root and watever, coz out of the box it doesnt work well, updating to 2.2 doesnt make it any better. And thats same as samsung in the past, no will or skill to fix issues, and the socalled patches for the GPS is no more than a workaround in a failed attempt to hide the fact that SGSs GPS problem is caused by defective hardware.

Same bettery as xperia 10 and the biggest default in that phone is the battery power and they put it in the arc? you gonna be kidding me, arc is just xperia x10 with a new upgraded software, and all you people are getting sucked in to belive its a new phone, common guys, the media is playing with you. be smarter

Hmmm..interesting about the plasticy thing as the X10 is plastic but anyone who has actually ever owned one will admit that it feels like top quality, quite different to Sammy's galaxy. Again, the Nexus S is plastic but I doubt anyone can argue with the fact that it feels like a premium phone..scratch that, idiots always argue......
SE has never done cheap, PERIOD! Personally, can't wait to own this.

I played with this phone at CES a few weeks ago. Although it does look good, it feels very cheap. Plasticky like Galaxy S. If it was solid like an htc, it would be great

You comparing it to nexus one? Unless they are using same hardwares & softwares, even twins are not alike in every aspect.
Do you know you can install apps to external memory?
Try harder next time.

good design, 10 for sony :D
and for the hardware. it isn't too good even though it has 1ghz processor,but the enemy ,such as 'lg optimus 2x' which has 1 ghz dual core processor is a tough one for sony

Sonny Ericsson - Masters at screw ups. The last time I checked we're in 2011, yet this thing has only 512MB of RAM,only 480 x 854 pixels, no Dual Core, and to drive a nail in the coffin, no front facing camera.
First of all I hope the specs are wrong.
But if the specs are correct then this phone is worthless. I currently have a Nexus one from LAST YEAR,with similar specs to this phone so this thing should have been released last year in the first place.
Those who make the ghastly mistake of getting this thing (can't bring myself to call it a phone any longer)will discover that their ability to install apps will be severely limited due to only 512MB of RAM. That's the problem I currently have with my Nexus one because a significant portion of your apps reside on your internal memory and you will be unable to push them to your external memory.
If Sony Ericsson can't learn to do things right why don't they just shut down already.

Arc is great smartphone even though it's not SE flagship phone.
But the most important thing is SE must support & upgrade their OS until the hardware can't meet system minimum requirements.
