It is one of the best phones on the market, it would have been cool if it had a front camera and was dual core, but it is keeping up with all the dual core phones even though it is single core. I have this phone and have never bee disappointed with any of the Sony Ericsson products i have purchased! Excellent phone, Fantastic design! No complaints

[deleted post]Depend on the users. Most of all Arc S users don't care much about front camera and that's why they get this phone. Think.

Design and Feel
Running at a resolution of 854 x 400 with mobile bravia technology the reality display screams quality whilst being squeezed into an incredibly thin arc body. The design is amazing however this is not with its gripes; the power button and camera button are tiny and recessed into the bottom making them rather awkward. Nevertheless this doesn’t take away from the fact that it still has all this plus an hdmi port on such a fine device.
Interface
Sony have done little with their UI customisations, this is a sure cry from HTC’s Sense and Motorola’s Blur. The touches it has done are nice and welcome but are in line with what android offers already.
Your welcomed into the device with Sony Ericson’s time scape on the screen, it’s nice to see this finally have an upgrade what was once clunky and a waste screen space can now be useful and with the ability to add further extensions a great way to manage your screen.
Unfortunately screen space is an issue on this device. With the device limited to 5 home screens it is very easy to fill them up especially considering that unlike the HTC and Samsung UI enhancements, the Sony Ericsson does not have quick settings in the notification bar though in doing so you will find at least one of your screens will be taken up with widgets that could easily have been placed in the notification bar.
Sony’s media enhancements are most welcome; they have put a real effort in making social network integration pain free rather than being obtrusive. With the option to discover music and videos through the built in media player, with the ability to use the “like” function to share music yourself.
The camera UI has been enhanced with several features 3D and 2D panorama, Burst shot, Scene mode, touch to focus and many more. Combine this with the brilliant low light camera Exmor R this takes brilliants photos all day and night long.
Final thing of the UI is the overview mode which when pinch the screen brings all your widgets together which you are able to shake the screen and tap on the widgets to jump to the screen they are on. Its nice novel way to get around and good to see Sony aren’t following the crowd on this one, still not as polished as it can be.
Internet
It is really difficult to see any changes to this browser over the stock, this isn’t a bad thing as the android stock browser is fantastically quick, but some useful features like an overview of bookmarks or open windows and no gestures wouldn’t go a miss.
Still it’s your basic browser with adobe flash support. There is plenty of other alternatives to opera mini and dolphin HD that could work as alternatives, though this will do.
Camera
The real talking point of this device is the much talked about Exmor lens in the camera of this device. With aperture of f2.4 this phone takes stunning photos in low lights and videos as well. Manufacturers are finally realising that sticking a good lens on is better than placing more megapixels. This camera is no n8 beater but there is not much out there that can compare with this. Pictures taken by the device are truer in colour to their original selves compared to that of many others which tend to have over saturated colours to give the impression of better quality.
Videos taken are great coming out at 30fps at 720p which means that videos are crystal clear and would look right at home on your TV straight from the phone. At present even with the boast in processor the device is unable to do full 1080p which is not too good considering others have managed it with good results. It’s not essential but it would be nice to have it.
Battery Life
Battery life on the device is really good, considering you have the mobile bravia engine and reality display sapping the strength from the battery. You easily will get between 1 and days with half brightness more if you drop it and less if you up it.
Verdict
Welcome back to the top Sony Ericsson, this device is just short of fantastic. Sony has really cleaned up their ideas with their latest line-up with their devices receiving more updates for features rather than bug fixes than any other device out there. The developers are just on fire.
The camera is amazing and you can see why even apple are using a Sony lens, when it comes to camera few can top them these days.
This device is on par with the AMO-LED Plus. Screen of the Samsung galaxy s2 the brightness and colour reproduction just can’t be beaten.
720p unfortunately is not enough these days to be considered high end. The widgets for the quick functions are a bit clunky.
The slim phone also means that you have tiny buttons, with the most obvious being the power button. It is in odd location due to the arc of the body and could be placed on the side to a lot easier.
Final opinion is at the price this device is going £299 in some places this device is absolute bargain for the software and hardware that is inside and with Sony promising ice cream sandwich in the first quarter of 2012 the device is future proof for now.
It’s also worth noting that with Sony buying Ericsson share out, the device should receive more upgrades aligning it more closely with Sony.

AnonD-32925, 05 Dec 2011please, can you guys tells me the true about this phone ? c... moreCompare to others Xperia phone, this is the one with the better battery life. You can easily get 2-3 days without heavy usage and 1.5-2days with heavy usage. Its a little above average for a smartphone battery life. Do not to worry. :)
