I really like my Arc S. I've had it nearly 2 months now, a huge upgrade from my Galaxy Portal (Spica?). I looked at the S2 and the Desire S, but when it came down to price and overall specs the Arc S is difficult to beat.
Sure I could have got the S2 with its dual core processor, but Gingerbread isn't even optimised for dual cores, and its pretty pricey. Not only that Samsung really ruined my first smartphone experience with the Galaxy Portal. I cant get Froyo! It's this kind of crappy customer loyalty that they have which turned me off them.
The Desire S was nice but having only 3 physical buttons sucked (Standby key/volume rocker, thats it!)
Also, its only got a 5mp camera, a smaller screen and 1ghz processor.
The Arc S has got nice physical buttons, even the rare camera button!
Couple that with HDMI out, 8mp camera, huge display (with no air gap, I can use it outdoors!) and we have ourselves a winner!
Cheaper than the S2 but with similar features.
Same price as Desire S but with Waaay better features!
I'm really happy with it, and Sony Ericsson have confirmed ICS is coming next year too.
I cant recommend it enough!

I can't use my browser using my network provider. My unit is properly configured but there's no any G signal indicator on the upper part of the screen. What will I do? Your immediate response/suggestion is highly appreciated. Thank you in advance! =)

On the last comment you said GS+ have far better specs where actually Arc S is better. Yes, it has low internal memory but believe me, u wont notice the slowing down difference (several apps can be move to SDcard). Same 512mb ram as GS+. Arc S will get unofficial ROM too just like before. Don't confuse others.

Shuib, 01 Dec 2011What do u mean that samsung galaxy s plus has better specs?... moreCamera is the least important thing to me, but it's all about personal preferences i guess. Design is also less important to me than specs. And if i want a good camera, well i have my own digital camera ffs!
xperia arc
- 320mb internal memory?! SE thinks we're stupid or smthng?! All devices need more int memory because that's also one thing that the speed of the pohone depends on! That considered with only 512mb ram is way bad.
Hardware on the phone is more important, and considering ICS, well there will be unofficial roms much better and with far more customisation possibilities than the original ICS so no need to worry about that. It's deffinitely GS+ :D

consumer, 01 Dec 2011I wanted to buy this phone but with all these trolls payed ... moreWhat do u mean that samsung galaxy s plus has better specs? does it have HDMI port? no. does it have slim and sleek design? no. does it have 8mp Exmor R camera? no. does it have flash for godsake? no. And more importantly, does it get ICS update? NO. I said yes u are a samsung biased. This Xperia Arc S definitely better and reliable phone than galaxy s plus. sheeessshh
