Steve CHOPS!, 27 Nov 2011JAEZUZ!dont know which to choose between galaxy nexus, noki... morePersonal Opinion, forget about HTC, skip Lumia & N9

Choose between this & Samsung, I would much prefer the SE for the build quality & good price tag, you can get it now for 420$, Regards

Steve CHOPS!, 27 Nov 2011JAEZUZ!dont know which to choose between galaxy nexus, noki... moreLoL so many options =) Forget the Lumia, and also forget the Optimus 2x (not coz its so bad, it has an excellent display, way better than Arc S, but software wise and for battery life its kinda poor, not reliable)

Then forget HTC, coz the HTC Sense is laggy, and in general HTCs have too many software bugs.

And Forget Arc S if you want a good display. If display is very important for you then reconsider Optimus 2x, and you may even be willing to live with HTCs bad Sense so you can get a SLCD display.

I think galaxy nexus has "same old" samsung AMOLED? Not good enough. Same as SGS2, its not an option if you want good display, it has a blue tint to everything white, and navy blue will look like black. call it "yet another defective AMOLED", same as SGS.

Nokia N9 may be the closest thing to an overall good cellfone, but its pretty special in that its creator has abandonned the OS development project and hardware wise its not top of the line, doesnt feel complete.

There is no perfect cellfone out there right now, last "close to perfect" device this world saw was Nokia N900, now much to old and slow to be competitive.

performance and battery problems: Uninstall the included bloatware they call Mcafee, seemed to have helped very much on my xperia pro which was lagging after 4.0.2 software update, the update had reinstalled Mcafee and Moxier Pro.

and dont worry about removing mcafee, it doesnt make ur fone any safer, you are better off without it.

Many of you are blaming the device for battery drain. But the device is well capable, it's Android OS which is taking out most of the juice.

Hopefully the developer will work on it. Till then if you want to get a better battery life, you may try this.

                                    1. Root your ARC s. *** (Do this only if you are confident enough about root option.)

I have rooted recently my ARC S. And by doing so i have deleted many unwanted apps (kept backup also) like Golf HD, Facebook extensions, Chinese/Japanese keyboards and many other apps. This enables more RAM space and the device performs much faster now and the battery life also increased a lot.

I think the true power of android unleash only if you get the admin access, right? Otherwise using a stock Android OS is just like any other stock OS Symbian, or Bada.

BTW you can easily UNROOT the device as well after Rooting, if you want to. The process is well explained in XDA.developer forum.
