It is the most slowest phone ever among all the FLagship phones in the last 1 - 2 years.
Upgrade it to ICS, use/customize it for 10 - 15 days and experience its great lag and slowness!
Sony sucks!
Samsung upgraded its S2 (2011) to JB but Sony bluntly said no and is adamant not to optimize its software so that phone runs smoothly!
I got HTC One, so good Project Butter FTW!

Install Android assistant and clean master
restart your phone after 24Hours !
clear cache and kill background processes using both softwares that i have mentioned !

but u can upgrade via Sony PC Companion
download the latest Sony PC Companion from Sony website
Before updating , check your internet connectivity ! enable USB debugging in your phone
charge your phone at least 75%
after that attach your phone to your pc / laptop
open PC Companion , and check whether Sony companion detects your phone or not , if it detects then it will notify you about Software upgrade is available :) thats it !

george, 20 Apr 2013i recently bought an arc s online.my phone s good...wen i t... moremight be there is a problem in Signal IC or in your Sim Card
replace the sim card and check .this is not a software issue !

Software use hardware resources to perform Certain tasks , if there is a problem at hardware end , then what software can Do ?
if repairing costs more than new one , then leave the old faulty device , buy a new One !

i want to get an expericened comment on the bettry timings of xperia arc s, am currently using galaxy Si9000, any body tells me which one's bettry timings is best? arc s is better or galaxy s in caase of bettry timing

after unlocking bootloader
download official Arc S ICS firmware

and download super jelly bean and gapps from this link , put super jelly bean and gapps into your SD card

after download , install it , it will install in C:\Flashtool (by default)
if you don`t know how to flash firmware using flashtool
let me explain for you
extract the download ICS firmware to location (C:\Flashtool\firmware) delete the Old file if you found any in firmware folder
power off your device
open flashtool.exe file
click on thunder button and select flashmode
for next windows just press okay
wait for the next window appear
Connect data cable to USB port of your PC / Laptop
hold the back button key on your phone and connect your phone , Notification Light on your phone will ON in green color , now leave back button , it will take sometime to flash Firmware
after Completion of flashing , Remove your phone , but don`t power on ur phone
download this Fusion kernel File

put this kernel file into firmware folder of Flashtool , delete the Arc S ICS firmware from this folder that you previously flashed
open flashtool , power off your phone , plug usb cable to your pc , now hold the button right next to home button key on your phone ,and connect your phone , this time LED will turn on in blue color click on thunder button , this time select fastboot mode
a window will appear , select option "kernel to flash" it will navigate you to select file , select kernel file
it will take 1-2 seconds to flash kernel file
remove your phone after flashing , and power on your phone
after fusion logo appear , start pressing volume down key untill CWM Appear
listen one thing , touch does not work in CWM(Clock work mode) , to select any option use home button key , and for scrolling use volume up and down key
back button also works for back purpose
first of all , wipe data
wipe cache partition
wipe dalvik cache in advance
in mounts and storage , wipe system , data and cache
after doing so , install zip
select install zip from sd card , select super jelly bean zip from sd card , install it
install gapps zip
after installing gapps , come back to main menu !
in power option , select reboot system
by following this tutorial u can install Super Jelly bean

stable and fast rom like SJB
but better than SJB in terms of Graphics :)

i recently bought an arc s online.my phone s good...wen i travel a long distance my phone's signal gets out of service...and it s not searching for signal again...i shud remove my sim and insert it again to get the signal everytime...is there any solution for this??? but normally its signal strength s awesome...this happens only wen i travel long journey :( help me plzzzzz
