I've had mine for a week now and I'm so loving it, no problems or whatsoever. But I wanna share my friend's experience when she got hers. Bought it for 11k+ philippine pesos with extended warranty from a cellphone retailer. Barely a month, she already had problems with the phone starting from it freezing up. She had it repaired and was told that the phone just needs to be updated. Several days after the repair, she had to take the phone back again and have it fixed because of overheating problem. The menu keeps on popping up and she can't do anything from her phone. I haven't heard from her yet since the last repair. :D
What i wanna say is that it's just a case to case basis. Or has something to do with the phones that was first released. When I bought mine (from a wireless provider), the OS is already up to date. Compared to my friend, hers had Gingerbread when she bought it.
Xperia mini rocks! What more could i ask for!?

The only annoying problem I m facing iis the heating problem and display works automatic!! I dnt have warranty frm sony,so may b it will take sm cash to fix it frm Sony care center :(

So how much is this in Manila now? Less than 11,000?
And what Samsung model gives similar performance in a small Android fone? Because i dont appreciate the flickering screen of the Xperias, Sony refuses to give us a way to turn off the light sensor. HTC is not an option, too much lag, and LG has a less than convincing quality. Compact samsung android below 12k anyone? not 5570 ofcors, its so ret@rded =)

Those batch were even pulled out because of the problems caused by the overheating. I just got my phone 2 days ago at a Sony Ericsson Store, so far I'm not encountering any problems. the manufacturing date is 11w41. I heard this is the new batch that doesn't have any problems. Anyway if you got those overheating problems, you can just go for the Sony Ericsson Service Center and ask for "calibration fix". It's free since it still covers 1 year warranty.

So don't go by sheer numbers. I never had the capacitive button problem. And many people who did got it fixed by software calibration done at the SE service centre. Also, many sammy fanboys troll around other phone blogs, and spread false rumours. So don't trust the ones by anonymous people.
I would suggest you go for it. Still, if anyone has not got their phone fixed even after calibration, please reply to this post.

Tj, 19 Dec 2011same 4 me.....i preffr live with walkman thinking abt batteryGo for the mini. Losing the bravia engine over a walkman tag is seriously not worth it. Also, the difference in screen size and thickness will hardly be noticible.

Guys, this is so important..!!!!
Never ever install 4.0.2.A.0.42 update on your Xperia Mini phone...It will start sooo many troubles in your phone..it is the latest update SE has given till today...but NEVER install that update...if you do so, you will also see freezing and ghost actions in your phone.., jst like me...i bought my Xperia Mini 1 month ago..it worked perfectly till i install that 4.0.2.A.0.42 update..then it started to freez all the time, when it was getting heat..i checked the lowest temperature that start to hang the phone..it was around 38 Celsius degrees..
so, i had to replace my device..after getting the new Xperia Mini, till now i didn't install that buggy 4.0.2.A.0.42 update and therefore my Xperia mini works soo much well...spread this message amoung your friends and please inform SE team if you can..thnx..
