[deleted post]Okay...okay...
After a lot of looking here & there on net I found out that video chat on android is still over data connection(IP).
But what I clearly found interesting was that even after so much Promotion and Hoo Ha abt video calling and video chat nobody is interested in using these functions at all !!!
It's one of the rarest used feature in mobiles and is likely to remain so for coming yrs without any doubt.
One more thing that I found is that video calls use H.236 type of format which is utter crap in terms of clearness. That's why most of the android manufacturers and software companies r keen on implementing video chat which provides many times better clarity without any compression.
And this is why people r more interested in using video chat instead of direct video calls.

AnonD-1758, 15 May 2011@abhi thanks for sharing the information however this time ... moreThis is the truth dude...
The video chat function that will come with android 2.3.4 can be done over 3G, 4G and WiFi networks which means that the so called "video chat" function in android 2.3.4 is actually renamed video calling.

[deleted post]@abhi thanks for sharing the information however this time you are wrong again. 2.3.4 will only introduce Video chat but by Google's GTalk. I can gv you the link with pics. Lots of people are still confused between Video call and Video chat. SE never said that their Android phones can do video call. Their calling menu does not have Video call option. Their official specification have X indicated in front of Video call time.
Galaxy S is not 2.3.4 but still it can do Video call. SE had introduced video call feature in all its non smartphone 3G phones like K810i but this time they are far behind.

Android now has a feature that can store apps in the SD card right? But I have herd that there are some apps that does not support that. Is it true? Will 320mb suffice? knowing that you install apps fist by default to the internal then transfer it to our sd. Plus does the 320mb include the OS data or should you deduct the storage for OS and standard apps from the 320? thanks!

Anonymous, 12 May 2011This is not a worth device if you're expecting constant os ... moreStop this bullshit...
Even the old X10 is getting the gingerbread update despite not having many features of new Xperia devices... and XDA devs have even partially ported Honeycomb to X10(in the early stage)

Constant updates are let's say a little bit more on the HTC side. However, their newer devices are locked down, so custom roms are questionable.
SE has the ability to unlock the bootloader and custom roms should start rolling out soon (and updates with them). Hardware wise, the Desire S, Incredible S and Xperia neo and arc are practicly identical (excluding ram and rom).

I had high hopes for this phone! Why the hell does it laggggg soooo much?!?! When switching apps, it stalls for a couple secs. It can even crash or become unresponsive. Somebody tell me why please.... Argh! Even when starting up the phone and switching home screens from left to right or vice versa. It especially lags opening the camera and trying to take a picture.

The phone lacks many hardwares that supposedly to get fully optimisation in the future android os: multi-core cpu, NFC, gyroscope, thermometer, latest bluetooth version etc. In other words it's useless to receive an os update when the device can't support new features brought by the new os version.

Should i go for this one or the desire s? Camera is not a priority, rather i would want a phone that will be fed with constant updates (like 2.4, 2.5 ....) atleast for 1-1.5 years. Even custom roms will do. So does this make the desire s a better choice. Also, will the low internal memory of neo be a problem?? Also, how is the Galaxy S in this price range? Please reply.
