hthimsson, 02 Aug 2011yo hell boy, it looks like your specs are off. the neo also... moreNo, my facts are never off. Go check the gsmarena page. And Rom Is not the same as internal memory, Rom Is the memory used for the firmware. And an 8gb card, How does it matter? The total capacity on the c7 would be 40.3 gigabytes, compared to 32 on neo And arc. And the screen resolution Is limited by the operating system, not a fault of the phone. And processing power Is like the only proper advantage on the neo.

Neo, 31 Jul 2011I need to buy neo. Can't understand why neo is cheaper than... more@ Neo...
regarding your question why Neo is less expensive than the ARC.....
The answer is like, if you know something about cars....then it is the same with a toyota and a lexus...
bascically the same cars, but lexus is like a toyota in a party dress.... it is flagship...and flagships are always high priced.

really like your facts(with a few errors though).....
if the C7 looked like, even the N8 then it would have made a better phone.. I dont like the way they designed the phone..
I am an age old symbian user and currently using the N8.
They all make sense...everything is sorted out...
but with the Neo, i had to face a bit of hiccup(dont knw whether my mind is all bent on Nokia).
Recently my company gave me a Neo....its beautiful.its fast... its elegant.. but I dont like to use it.... for me it is too complicated for a phone(if you like complicacy, get urself a laptop), it feels somewhat flimsy compared to my N8, and N8 has better multimedia capabilities...hence I am keeping it currently at my home cupboard....maybe I will be gifting to my mother....it is fancy...and women likes fancy things.... :P

Anonymous, 28 Jul 2011arc and neo have same performance, differ only in tidbit sof... moreBut neo have front facing camera for video call or for taking picture or use as mirror which arc does not have. I think comparing neo and arc, neo will be value for money. If not, just wait for a new SE phone that offers dual core and better camera and overall performances. Both Neo and Arc are great, but Neo win due to price versus specs wise.

AnonD-15970, 01 Aug 2011For all those who don't really care about a fancy UI, pleas... moreyo hell boy, it looks like your specs are off. the neo also comes with an 8GB card, so total memory is 8Gb + 320 internal. And I doubt the C7 has an FM transmitter; FM receiver is more likely. And the headset that neo ships with has a FM receiver.

And FLV is supported. FLV is flash video format; last I checked, android 2.3 supports it.

You're also confusing ROM and internal memory. They are the same. Internal memory is just the ROM available to the user.

And as far as performance goes: 512MB ram vs 256 RAM. Boom. is this even a competition with that difference? The Neo destorys the C7 in terms of processor, RAM, and screen resolution.

Hey guys. I'm about to buy this phone, but before I do it, I'd like to ask a couple of questions for the onwners.
1)Is it possible to instal "SWYPE" text input on this phone?
2)Battery life is really that bed? for how long does it lasts with the phone in idle?
3)Its case seems to be a little fragile, do you guys think it is easy to scratch? any damage so far?
4)Had any kind of compatiblity trouble with any Android app? Since its screen is 854x480 res, and most of android screens are 800x480...

                          Thank you people!! ;)

AnonD-15978, 01 Aug 2011It's not fanciness, the correct word would be performance..... moreSymbian anna should correct that. And remember, the processor has been downclocked from 772mhz. If need be, you can overclock it. There's plenty of pages on the internet to help you do that. And it's not laggy while gaming or during video playback, broadcom's as good as adreno 205.

And for most of us, its all that matters ;)... Ive seen C7's performance, and is laggy as hell... Some ppl even say lag on Nokia phones (or any other brand for that matter) that use Symbian, is not actually lag, but the way the OS works... Well duhh!!

For all those who don't really care about a fancy UI, please go for Nokia C7. Let me quickly summarise why :
                                    Nokia C7 vs Xperia Neo:

3.5" AMOLED 640x360 Gorilla Glass vs 3.7" Led backlit LCD 854x480, bravia engine.

680mhz processor with broadcom bcm2727 gpu vs 1ghz processor, adreno 205 gpu.

256mb ram, 1 gb rom vs 512mb ram, 380mb rom.

8gb +380mb internal memory vs 320mb internal memory.

                                    NFC support vs not supported.

                                    Bt 3.0 vs Bt 2.1.

                                    Fm transmitter vs not present.

Penta band 10.2 mbps hsdpa vs dual band 7.2 mbps hsdpa.

                                    Divx/Xvid/FLV support vs Not supported.

Video stabilization, smart video zoom hd 720p vs continuous autofocus hd 720p.

Dual led flash on 8mp fixed focus camera vs single led flash with autofocus 8mp camera.

Usb on the go vs hdmi port.

Now it's pretty obvious which one's the better phone, plus C7 comes cheaper and looks equally good. Sure, it lacks autofocus, but i'm not really the type who clicks text anyway. The image quality in good light is much better than the neo's, even better than the arc's, i can quote gsmarena on that:
                                    On C7's page :
"With sharpness tuned down, photos turned out for the better so much so that we actually went ahead and shot a comparative shot with the XPERIA X10. The Nokia C7 is actually quite on par with the XPERIA X10 - except in closeup shots, of course where the fixed focus C7 loses by a wide margin."
                                    On Arc's page:
"There’s plenty of fine detail in the XPERIA Arc shots (though surprisingly a bit lower compared to the X10) and the color rendering is good."
                                    On Neo's page:
"The image quality is a mixed-bag. There’s enough of fine detail in the Xperia Neo shots, but it’s a lot lower of what we saw on the Arc’s images."

And as for video quality, C7 is far better, check the video compare tool on Gsmarena (try X7, C7 hasn't been added to that list, at least not the last time i checked).

Now, i've made my point. Sure, Symbian can't take on android in fanciness, but some of us don't really care.
