Try to "repair your software" over Sony PC Companion.
Or just install unofficial jellybean or some other, I use cyanogenmod10, and it runs perfect and fast (even camera and dialer are fast unlike stock ICS :) )

I am unable to listen to music, I can't hear my phone ringing, The receiver of my calls cannot hear my voice (low sound),
No sound on notifications, no sound for the alarm and slower wifi connection. I can only obtain sounds if I connect to an earset. For your information, volumes settings were checked and found to be set at almost 95% max level.
Please help! Is there a change in the sound settings? When can this be fixed? It's very difficult to use the phone at the moment.

@beula if you plan to upgrade to ics with Sony stock rom is bad idea....but if you are interesting on ics custom roms, yes do it
