Rocker, 06 Jan 2012i've been using my neo v since 15 days...as of nw i'm lovin... morewell thats difficult to use.. i mean using net from desktop to mobile.. almost impossible via data cable...
well there is a solution if u have a wifi adapter in ur pc... there are softwares that can make it possible.. i had used "Connectify".. decent software... but it seemed to be getting interrupted by OS (kept getting disconnected and reconnected in 10 mins interval).. though i m not absolutely sure that this is reason... that was issue with s/w on my end...
other options are- virtual router, mhotspot, virtual wifi router.... i havnt used them..
though it will be much better to buy a proper wifi router... it wil be much efficient... prefer netgear or belkin...

Tethering is the ability to surf on your pc using the 3g of your phone
Reverse tethering is the opposite : surf on your phone using the ADSL of your PC.
This work only for rooted users !!!
For non rooted users, you can try my other solution, but require more manipulations and is limited to surf : http://www.codeproject.com/KB/androi...orwarding.aspx
Installation :
Unpack the zip file. This zip files contains the windows part, ADB and the android APK.
No need to uninstall older version of the android application.
Ensure you have debugging enabled on your phone :
Settings > Applications > Development > USB Debugging > Turn On
AndroidTool
The AndroidTool.exe is the windows part
The low level communication tool (ADB) is included in the zip file.
AndroidTool will try to find ADB in c:\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools\adb.exe
If not found he will use the provided one.
The first time you use the program :
If you want to use another version of ADB, clik "config" and in the first tab enter the path to the ADB
Select the DNS server to use in the right list. On complex system, some dns can be detected.
Click on “Show Android interface”. This will install the latest android package and the dependencies (busybox and redsocks).
The SuperUser process may ask you to allow “Usb tunnel”
To start tethering click “Connect”.
Again, The SuperUser process may ask you to allow “Usb tunnel”
If the android process crash after receiving superuser rights, close the windows program and start again. (It’s a beta)
The android interface (first tab) will show connections forwarded to windows.
Others tabs are just for debugging (give information about system route tables and connections). Not yet finished.
Start your browser
Google chrome will complain that no connection is available. Don’t care. That work.
Firefox , opera and dolphin don’t have problem with that !!!
The current version of the application can’t forward low level ICMP packet (PING).
From Android Os point of vue, there is no internet connection.

i've been using my neo v since 15 days...as of nw i'm loving d phone. it's really worth d money of 18k...i hv not experienced any restarting issue,but can any one explain how to use internet of the desktop in my mobile ,the desktop is of lan connected, i have that since long and i don't want to activate gprs in my mobile, for that what equipment i have to use.

I got this mobile from ebay only. It is safe to get from ebay.I got my mobile with neat packing and there is no problem in that as of now.But i didnt get HDMI cable in that pack.

Anonymous, 06 Jan 2012oh really?? so that purple fringe on the camera is absolute... moresee heating problem is in all the smartphones bcoz of high frequency silicon chip inside.. more u ask from it... more it will process... more it will heat up
now abt purplr fringe... it doesnt seem to bother me much coz i keep my flash off and click pics... and the flash is very powerful with nearby objects bt far obj the light fades out dramatically... after all its an LED flash and not xenon.. so use will be limited..still we req to show it to Sony though :)
abt reboot its already been discussed a lot times...

decide your budget and then ask ..
there is no point in asking whether you should go by bus or train ..
or you can pay extra bugs for delux bus .. or even an plane
every1 will say fly if you can ? does that answer you question ?? no coz ur question is also not clear.. so make up ur mind first

I am yet to visit Son... moreoh really?? so that purple fringe on the camera is absolutely very TRUE.. thanks for that info. :). many neo v users already experience that problem. and is really a serious serious problem.. but also some people said that u are lucky enough if your phone has no problem at all. my suggestion befor buying xperia neo v, test the camera with flash in the dark room, take pictures in the dark area.. and see if there r some purple fringe.. the truth is i didn't buy neo v because of many issues like heating,rebooting and purple fringe. second thought of buying this phone..
