Surely, this model should have the HDMI out! Come on Sony use imagination, this would be fantastic to play games on a larger screen. Even the N8 doubles as a good game system on your TV at a pinch. Apart from that seems a great device and will buy one upon launch, mainly for the decent keypad making control of games easier.

AnonD-1032, 13 Feb 2011right now after talking with a few of my friends we're all ... moreDid the first N-Gage have a 4 inch touchscreen, 1GHz CPU, Adreno GPU, Bravia Engine display, Android 2.3, PlayStation certified, and have the content that Sony will provide it? No? Then the comparisons stop there. Gaming on cell phones in 2004 was not as popular as today. No app stores to get them and tech was still immature. In 2004, people wanted flip phones and not gaming phones that was shaped like a gigantic taco. The market and tech is mature enough to have gaming phones now.

I hope Sony Ericsson uys are serious about the battery they are using to feed this baby, some of the smart phone freaks were complaining about X10's battery life, but if baby is released with the same battery just beware of gaming freaks . . . coz this device is one of those devices which will come in the category of always-on. if this thing is addressed, this device will kill the Finn confusion and Cupertino toy . . SE ROCKS. . . ALL THE BEST GUYS.

This phone and the ATRIX 4G are the only phones I care about this year so far. Motorola (Europe) on their official YouTube channel are very gracious to respond to my comments. I hated Moto for awhile because of their lack of software. Same with Sony. Both were on top of the world around 2005 before their sudden drop after 2007 during the iPhone phenomenon. But both companies are making a great comeback and coming out swinging in 2011 thanks to Android, the most popular OS right now. ATRIX, XOOM, XPERIA PLAY, AND NGP all look awesome! Good job, Motorola and Sony! We missed you both.

Everybody is talking about 3DS vs NGP right now, but this could quietly be the best selling portable gaming device of the year and the best-selling Android phone ever. Most popular smartphone of the year not named iPhone. SE puts this on multiple carriers in the U.S. and I could see this phone going for $149-199 w/ contract at first. Then a $99 price after two months. This would be more affordable than either 3DS and NGP. Look at YouTube. 1.3 million hits and another 800K in two other videos since the Super Bowl. SONY has two aces up its sleeve for gamers and each device is trying to converge two markets. When other phone manufacturers start copying the form factor of the X Play just to be PlayStation certified and catch up to the NGP's hardware by 2013, 3DS and NGP will be the last of their kind. XPERIA Play and PS Suite is basically promoting more gaming handheld/cell phone hybrids to be made. Gaming is the biggest seller in the App Store and HTC just bought OnLive. It is no longer a two-horse race between Nintendo vs Sony. But Sony is at least creating the better ecosystem and reacting to ever changing portable gaming climate better. LG Optimus 3D will be announced next week at MWC and Kyocera Echo was just announced. Nintendo 3DS won't be as unique once phones start adding glass-free 3D screens and dual screens. By the time XPERIA Play 3 comes out in 2013, we could see it as powerful as NGP and unique as the 3DS. XPERIA Play is just the start. Give it time to build a bigger following. This could be the beginning of the end for all gaming handhelds.
